THE DIARY GAME : 02/08/2020 : The Wood-apple Drink With Cooked Rice.

I woke up around 7am with the thought of a going out to see the doctor with my parents. So, today was a busy day. Before I got up from the bed, I checked the received mails and messages and replied them. Then my mother called me and asked me to get ready. So, I woke up, washed up and got ready to go. As I felt hungry, I had my breakfast before that. 😋

We left home around 9am and reached the private hospital called Roseth Hospital within few minutes We had channelled the same cardiologist for both mother and father. My mother normally meets this consultant cardiologist as she has High Blood Pressure from several years. This was my father’s first time as he was in good health. Ah... I should say that he is a retired Sergeant of Sri Lankan Army who sacrificed his young ages for the freedom of our country. Suddenly he said that he is feeling some tiredness time to time, though he does not have any common high blood pressure type problems. So, our family doctor asked us to meet this consultant.

My mother had number 24 and father had 27 as we channeled in two different times. Though they asked us to come around 9:30am we had to wait until 11am to see the doctor. Normally I go with my mother for this work. This waiting is always boring. Suddenly my childhood friend Raviru came and sit next to me saying hi. So, time was not that much slow after that we had many things to discuss. He is my friend since grade 6 in 2006 and then we were in the same class during Advanced level and now we are in the same university but not in the same faculty. He is an IT student and I’m an Engineering student in parallel batches.

When time came, I went inside with my mother and nothing wrong other than her usual cases. Then I went inside with my father and they asked to have an ECG. Then we went to ECG room and as soon as we got the report, we showed that to the doctor again. Then, he recommended some test. After saying goodbye to my friend, we left the hospital.

On the way to home we went to the pharmacy to buy medicines and then to the hardware as my father needed to buy something. Then I asked to visit my loku amma’s place. We call mother’s elder sister, loku amma means the elder mother. I was used to stay there, even when I was a little kid. So, this place is like a second home for me. Now there are two kids, Bantu and Doni are their nicknames. They are the son and daughter of the son of my Loku amma and loku thaththa means elder father. We ate boiled chickpeas there. I did not feel hungry though loku amma asked me to eat some rice. Then had a cup of tea with balled jaggery.

On the way back to home, one of my friends called and placed an order for a zentangle drawing as he need to gift it to a friend who is going to start a new studio soon.

Then we came back home, and I had a bath as soon as I came home. Then I felt hunger. After having lunch, I went to bed. It was around 2:30pm in the evening. I chatted with my friend Rasi and told the story from morning. I was with a huge load in my mind as my father felt sick. So, I needed to have a nap. It was raining outside, and my nap turned into a sleep of 2 to 3 hours.

After I woke up, I had a Diwul drink called wood apple in English, with some rice in it. It is very delicious when we add some cooked rice into wood apple drink.

Then, I had some time outside looking at the sky. There was a big moon on the sky as tomorrow is the Nikini Full moon poyaday.

I had a scheduled meeting regarding my Research project at 9pm. After that, I started to type my #thediarygame post. This is the end of my diary today but may be not the end for today. Thank you for reading.
