Weekly CRICKET Review - Xiii | High Scoring thriller between neighbours

How's everything going friend? It's my first review in the new year. Holidays are not a concerning matter in Cricket. It's more exciting and busy than ever with the Test series, T20Is, and different leagues around the world.

• With 2-0 in the series favoring the host, the last Test match is playing in Sydney. But the rain ruined the match, the fourth day was entirely washed away. Austrlia is 475-4 in 131 overs after 4 days. Usman Khawaja is playing with 195*.

• Steve Smith registered his 29th Test century, passing Sir.Bradmen's numbers. His record in Test is unbelievable. In 91 matches (161 innings), he has scored 8543 runs with an average of 60.6. He has to be the greatest Test batsman of this generation.

• The second test is held in Karachi. NZ batting first put a total of 449 runs, with the hundred of Devon Conway. What a ream start he is having in Test. In 12 tests he has already scored 4 hundreds at an average of 54.76. Nz's final two put a partnership of 104 runs.

• Anyhow Pakistan also managed to score 408 runs eventhough wickets rattled in regular intervals making the match interesting. Saud Shakeel made his debut hundred.

Devon Conway

• NZ declared the second inning, after scoring 277/5 giving a target of 319 runs in the last day. But PAK was in 80/5 after 25 overs. Sarfaraz Ahmed kept fighting from one end. And now they are 270/6 has to score 49 runs in the last 12 overs.

• After a nail biting encounter, Sri Lanka lost the first match by 2 runs in the final over. You can read my blog here, Another heart breaking defeat for Sri Lanka

Pandya praisng Shanaka for his inning

• The second match was also not second to the first. It was a high scoring thriller until the last over. FInally Sri Lanka could break the winning streak of India in their home, after 13 defeats.

• After winning the toss, surprisingly India opted to ball first. Sri Lankan openers, Mendis particularly, hammered Indian bowlers, putting 55 in the power play and 80 runs for the first wicket in 8 overs.

• Then Asalanka took the battle and score quick 37 runs off 19 balls with 4 beautiful sixes. But wickets kept falling and Sri Lanka was 138 for 6 wickets.

• But Dasun Shanaka, the new daddy of India then took Sri Lanka to 206 runs scoring 68 runs in the last 4 overs. He scored 56 runs in 22 balls with 6 sixes.

Axar beating Hasaranga

• India had no clue against fast balling attack of Sri Lanka. Rajitha took both the openers in the second over and they were 57-5 after 9th over.

• But Axar Patel and SKY took the control slowly and hit 4 sixes against Hasaranga in the 14th over. SKY scored 33 ball fifty. axar took the match until the last over scoring 65 runs off just 31 balls.

• Kasun Rajith balled a brillint spell of 4 overs just for 22 runs and 2 wickets. And Dasun Shanaka defended 21 runs at the final over.

• The highlighting thing is that Arshdeep Singh conceeded 5 no-balls in the match overall 7 by the team.
