Hello STEEMIANs

"STEEMIT ENGAGEMENT CHALLENGE-S15W3"

The presence of waste in human life has brought many negative impacts on the environment and causes pollution.

The following is my participation in the SEC-S15W3 contest organised in the Steem Indonesia community, I will invite great steemian friends to join this contest @safridafatih @lirvic @josepha @pandpra2010

What do you think when you see someone throwing rubbish carelessly? and, in your country what is the form of punishment for people who deliberately throw rubbish carelessly?

I get my students used to maintaining cleanliness in the school environment

As a teacher I always emphasise to my students to keep themselves and the environment clean both at home and at school, so when I see someone littering I feel very upset. This is because in my personal life, since I was a child, I have been instilled with the good habit that cleanliness is the main thing and important.

Especially if the person who littered was my student. So I will immediately reprimand him and give him a warning. In addition, I will give him a punishment to go back and pick up the rubbish and throw it into the bin. In addition, I will also ask him to clean up and collect garbage around the school environment.

Students working together to clean up rubbish

In my country, Indonesia, there is no strict punishment for people who litter. So far, the only punishment is in the form of verbal warnings and social sanctions from the community. Perhaps that is why there are still many people who are not disciplined in maintaining cleanliness, especially in disposing of waste and managing it so that it does not become a cause of environmental pollution.

At your place, is waste used to increase income? What are the benefits of waste that can make money there?

In the area/city where I live, there is a special place that collects waste in the form of used goods that can then be recycled. Waste that is collected as recyclable materials such as paper, glass bottles, cardboard, iron and so on.

All these materials are bought by the waste collectors so that they make money for those who sell them. This is usually done by waste pickers. The used materials are taken to a waste collection centre for recycling.

For the utilisation of waste specifically in the workshop into useful products is usually done by the home industry, they make certain products in the form of handicrafts using waste materials and produce products that can be sold to increase income.

In my school, we also encourage students to be creative in using materials that are used to make products that have added value and produce income.

Products produced such as tissue holder and bags, wallets artificial flowers, flower vases and others. Handicrafts by utilising materials from waste is a positive activity.

In your opinion, how do you manage household waste properly so that it does not have a bad impact on the environment

In my opinion, the way to manage household waste is by applying 3 principles, namely:
1 .REUSE
2. .REDUCE and
3. .RECYCLE
We recommend that the waste at home be selected and separated. For organic waste can be directly collected and processed into fertiliser that can be useful.

As for non-organic waste, sort out which ones can still be reused and collect them somewhere or take them to a waste collection centre.

Sorting out rubbish to be disposed of

The process of sorting household waste may seem trivial but there are still many who do not care and are reluctant to do this. But if every family or every home does this, it can solve the waste problem and reduce the risk of environmental pollution.

Will the accumulation of large amounts of waste affect the comfort of people in your neighboring country? How did that happen? share your opinion

When cleaning up rubbish

Even a small amount of waste can disturb the comfort of the living environment, especially if there is a large accumulation of waste, anyone can be disturbed, because the problem of waste is closely related to germs that cause diseases that can arise from the accumulated garbage.

Various dangerous germs can come from rubbish. If a disease outbreak occurs, it will harm many people, let alone neighbouring countries.

This is my brief review of today's contest theme, I really hope that we as humans who live on this earth can be more aware and care about environmental sustainability so that our earth can be free from garbage, so start a healthy and clean movement from yourself and from each of our homes.

It's my personal experience that many people think that there is something shameful if you are cleaning roads and a particular path outside your home but I think it's nothing which is shameful it is just about thinking of a person which changes from person to person so my thinking is that if you are guiding to your students to clean their surroundings always then you are a best teacher that is important to knowledge to your students and you are making your students more practical then just focusing on the book is knowledge I wish you good luck in this engagement challenge in which you participate

Hi @sailawana

Amiga, I totally agree with you, that cleanliness is the most important and primordial thing. Like you, I am an educator and the first thing we teach is that the beauty and cleanliness of both the city and the home should be something sacred. In that sense, when someone throws a waste in the street or elsewhere, it gives me so much indignation and irritation.

Everything in its place. The garbage in its place and that the governmental entities are in charge of properly collecting the waste in the neighborhoods and sectors, so that each family does not accumulate waste.

Happy and blessed afternoon.

I have read your article and I am happy to be able to read your article, because you can teach your students so that they don't litter, and I see that you are definitely a creative teacher. You can make tissue holders from other used items. Good luck.
