Online shopping apps have taken consumers' online shopping needs to a different level with their eye-catching marketing, attractive discounts, and ever-increasing variety of products. The users of these online shopping apps are constantly increasing, and I also do various shopping online.

What's your favorite online shopping app & why?

We don't have Amazon in our country, but my favorite online shopping app, Daraz, has fulfilled the demand for all types of customers. It has about 7 million users and more than 40,000 sellers all over Bangladesh, I have bought countless products from here and it's my favorite online shopping App.

Another reason why it is our favorite is that I get imported items that I don't get in big shopping malls, and I always get original products from here at fair prices. Daraz has become known as the number one online shopping app in Bangladesh, where new users are increasing due to good discounts, easy returns, and good customer service.

What would you prefer to buy through your favorite online shopping app?

I like to buy many imported items from here, especially shampoo, body spray, and foreign dry foods, which are not available offline. But here are the special discounts given on stock clearance of various products and vouchers of a good amount to buy multiple products at once, which I don't miss.

I don't order the product as soon as I see it; first, I look at the product description, if it is imported, the region, and the product preview. Because even if we can shop online very easily, the possibility of getting cheated here is very high. So I prefer to shop smartly instead of getting scammed by discounts.

No matter how cheaply a product is sold from offline to online, if the product is original, then it is worth the money for me to buy it online at a discount rather than offline. However, many products are sold online at a discount, but the price of the product, including delivery charges, remains the same as in the offline market.

But many times it creates confusion for the users about which store to buy from because all the stores have the same product & different discount, so in this case, I checked the review of the product and the reputation of the seller.

I used to buy my imported wow shampoo earlier from an offline store, which cost 900 Taka/40 Steem without any discount. But through the online Daraz app, I was able to buy it for 750 Taka/34 Steem, which is about 15 to 17% less, and get a completely original product. I have saved 80 Taka/3.5 Steem,excluding delivery charges.

Offline, we get a chance to check the quality of any item before buying it, but it may take us a lot of time. Although online shopping reduces our time, we always have to keep in mind that we can't see and touch the product online. From online , we should buy those things that we don't get offline or buy products as per our requirements.

If one does not want to get scammed while shopping online, then the best ways I think one should shop are:

• Check whether the seller is selling only that one specific product. Single-product stores should be avoided.

• Product descriptions should be read carefully. If the product is imported, then its region should be known; in this case, the seller must be asked for further information.

• You should see the review ratings given by the customers of the product. In this case, along with the reviews, the comments made by the customers about the product should be carefully looked at because many times fake reviews are given.

• Check if the seller has any verified level and how old the seller is in the marketplace.

• The most important thing is to look at how the product is being discounted, as sellers may offer more discounts than necessary to attract customers and may be offering the wrong product.

All these things I check before shopping online and before adding any product to my cart.
