Share your personal experience in loving local products. What fascinates you and connects you to local products?

Most of the products are produced domestically in our country. All types of products like food products, agricultural products, cosmetics, stationeries, medicines, garments, machinery, spare parts of automobiles, technology products are produced locally. As the area where we live is rural, a lot of agricultural products are produced here. Since coconut farming is extensive in our area, products related to it such as coconut oil, coir, and fiber are manufactured here. Also crops such as groundnut and maize are produced. Related products are also manufactured here.

For example, chikkies, a protein bar made from groundnuts, are very popular here, and are high in protein and iron. A local product like this is a great alternative to chemical-laden corporate sweets like chocolate cake, while being quality and healthy.

Coonoor, where I was born, and its surrounding areas are hilly regions, so there is a lot of tea production there, and the tea produced there is world famous.

Explain the benefits and positive impacts of supporting local products. How can your contribution help the growth of the local economy and surrounding community?

Our country's economy grows by buying and using only locally produced products and it brings many benefits to us so why do I want to buy and use locally produced products especially food products and clothes are all produced locally.Demand for a commodity increases when more is bought and used for consumption. Hence, its demand and production is high. That way local producers and farmers benefit from our buying locally. Not only that, the traders who sell it, the transporters who carry it, all benefit. It increases our revenue. Increases taxes and revenue for our country. Through it other infrastucture and essential needs of our country are fulfilled. An opportunity arises for the government to fulfill the needs of the people.

Name one or two popular local products in your area. Tell us why tourists often look for it. No need to be too detailed, focus on the attractiveness of the product.

The district where we live is Coimbatore and this district is very famous for textile weaving. Cotton clothes are mostly manufactured here. T-shirts, underwear etc. made from these fabrics are very popular here. Laxmi Mills, Ramraj, Poomex, Doller are some famous cloth brands. Apart from that Coimbatore district is very famous for producing motors and pump sets, Sharp pumps CRI pumps are very popular products.

Similarly, motor vehicle spare parts are produced here, TVS Motors and Pricol are one of the famous companies, TVS mortors produse wolrd clas motor bikes and exports to many countries.. Similarly, tea is produced in the Nilgiri hills near our town and the tea produced here is exported to foreign countries.

A lot of quality products are produced in our country and especially in our town. They are also world class. It is not possible for me to exemplify everything here, however I would like to show here the material I use daily. Paper is very important to me as a graphic designer. Paper quality is very important to get the best output of my work to sho to my customers. Especially since photo paper and 75 gsm paper are used frequently I think they should be of good quality. So I use digital plus photo paper from my favorite Nova company as well as "Copy gold" and 75 gsm papers for print outs.
