Hello great minds of this aweinspiring community, I believe that we are all doing well and are actively engaging in the post of one another.

With that being the case, I may now proceed to the main aim of this contest.
This contest aims at explaining how our planet can be taken care of and how I have tried to take care of it.

Before understanding how to take care of our planet, we need to first get enough information on how the planet can be spoilt.

HOW CAN THE PLANET BE DESTROYED

• DEFORESTATION :

Deforestation can be explained as the removal of trees without replacement.

Deforestation has a negative effect on our planet Earth, it leads to soil Erosion.

Whenever it rains heavily, there's usually what we know as erosion (the washing away of the upper most layer of the earth)

Without the presence of trees to combat the forces of erosion, the earth will be helpless against erosion and this damages the earth.

Another negative effect of deforestation is that it leads to loss of soil nutrients.
Without the presence of trees, soil erosion can easily lead to soil erosion, a condition whereby the Soil has lost all it's necessary nutrients.

Deforestation also lead to a threat of wide life, what I mean is that without the replacement of trees, wild animals like snakes, scorpion etc will cease to exist.

Deforestation also causes flood, flood is a condition whereby there's excess rainfall in an environment and this has impose a threat on human life.

Deforestation also lead to climate change and global warming, and this are condition that are dangerous to the lives of humans.

• BURNING OF FOSIL FUELS:

The burning of fuels is another way in which our planet is depleted.
The smoke from the burning of fossil fuels contains contains sulphur(IV) oxide [SO₂], carbon monoxide and other dangerous gases that are toxic to human health also deplete the ozone layer.

When the ozone layer is depleted, it has toxic effect on the health of humans, it will increase the harshness of the sun on human and also lead to green house effect.

• DISPOSING OF TOXIC SUBSTANCES INTO THE SEA:

By disposing toxic substances into the sea is another ugly act of humans that damages our planet.
When toxic substances are thrown into the sea, it leads to the death of numerous water bodies, and when the water bodies are dead, the sea becomes polluted, thus being unsafe for humans.

• BUSH BURNING:

By engaging in bush burning, humans are in a sense damaging our planet Earth.
What I mean is that, by burning bushes, we make the soil infertile, unhealthy for planting.

And as it known, we depend on plants to survive and these plants helps to purify the atmosphere.
By engaging in bush burning, we are damaging our planet earth.

There are still many other ways in which our planet is being destroyed, but that is not our bone of contention, our bone of contention is how we take care of our planet.

HOW WE CAN CARE FOR OUR PLANET

• AFFORESTATION:

Afforestation being the inverse of deforestation can be explained as the planting of trees or the replacement of fallen trees.

By planting of trees we help to take care of our planet.
Not only does the trees provide food, it also helps to serve as windbreak.

By planting of trees, we assist to prevent the occurrence soil erosion and it helps to support fertility of soil.

• PUBLIC ENLIGHTENMENT:

Public enlightenment is another way in which we help to protect our planet.
By engaging in public enlightenment, we help others see reason why they should care for the earth.

If others fail to see reasons why they should care for the earth, our efforts alone, cannot over weigh theirs.

• THE USE OF LONG LASTING LIGHT BULB:

By making use of long lasting light bulb, we help to reduce the radiation of heat, which thus helps to prevent green house effect.

• DRIVE LESS:

By reducing how often we make use of our vehicles, we help to protect our planet earth.
The smoke that radiate from our vehicles go straight into the atmosphere and depletes our ozone layer.

• ENCOURAGEMENT OF FAMILY PLANNING:

We might be wondering how family planning affects our planet 😃.

Family planning does not affect the planet Earth but it helps to control the population of humans on earth.

Overpopulation happens to be another factor that affects our planet so badly.
When the world is overpopulated, there will be no space/ area to encourage growth of other living things.

Most times overpopulation leads to the indiscriminate felling of trees.

Having considered how the planet earth is being damaged and the solutions to it, I shall now conclude by showing how my family and I have shown our love for the planet earth.

HOW I TAKE CARE OF MY PLANET

• BY PLANTING TREES IN OUR COMPOUND:

My family and I have shown that we care for our planet by making sure that trees are planted in the compound.

• BY ESTABLISHING A FARM LAND:

My family and I have shown that we care for our planet by creating and maintaining a farm land where we cultivate maize.

By owning a farm, we assist in the purification of the atmosphere.

• BY DRIVING LESS:

Another way my family and I have shown our love for the planet earth is by driving less.
We have come to realize that by driving more, we are contributing to the depletion of the ozone layer.

And by this we have decided to make use of our legs whenever we are going short distances

• ADDING MANURE TO THE SOIL:

My family and I have made it a duty to visit poultries in search of the remains of the poultry birds.

CONCLUSION

It is very important that we learn how to keep our planet clean.
By taking care of our planet, we are in a sense preserving our health.
