CCS Contest Session - March Theme - "Beauty of Nature" - Between the Mountains
The day I leave Oman forever and return back to India, the one thing I am going to miss the most is the Mountain life. India too has many peaks, but they are all long distance travel from where I stay. In Oman within a 2 hour drive we are up into the Mountains and it makes me feel so close and connected to the nature. The other thing is that the population is very less in this place so these places are very clean and empty, compared to what I will get in India.
This was a trip made to one of the Dam, where there is a Park and it is all surrounded by Mountains. The views are breathtaking from here, specially the sunset. The place is just an hour and a half drive from my home and it is a perfect spot for a day picnic as there is a park where there are trees which gives a good shading for day resting. Anyone who visits Muscat, I get them to this place as it is one of the must visit places. The Mountain and the river all of them blend so beautifully with each other. The Mountains are all of different shades of brown and that gives the charm to the whole scenery and the river adds up to the beauty.
We celebrated my hubby's 50th birthday in this park 2 years ago. It was so much fun. We come here with all the food and then spend the day. Even though it's a commercial place, there is nothing much available. At the most we can get some chips or juice tetra packs. There is only one vendor here who keeps very limited food items. It's best to get everything that would be required for a day picnic. Lately they have also started with some activities like cycling and boat ride. Though I have never done any of those. What I enjoy is coming here and relaxing in the park with these views around. We always keep one mat in the car, that it can be handy for such places.
Today for the contest "Beauty of Nature" I am sharing these pictures of this beautiful nature, which no man can build even with the most hi-tech equipment's or technology.
It's just not the final destination, but the drive to this place is also a beautiful one crossing through the mountain roads.

It's very beautiful, but I don't see any greenery at all, just mountains, rocks and sand with water.
Are there forests here?
There is greenery in Oman only in some parts. Yes, majorly it is surrounded with mountains, rocks, desert and sea. In this particular part there is no natural greenery but a lot of gardens and parks will be found which are maintained very well.
On the one hand, the lack of greenery is not very good, but these are the conditions.
This has its own beauty. Moreover, every garden and park is appreciated here :)
