Macro photography Challenge - Week 49 - Colonial wars.
Living in the twenty-first century we hear only echoes of the once raging colonial wars which have died down but sometimes remind of themselves.
This calm is deceptive in fact colonial wars have never stopped but many of them occur outside our field of attention they occur for example on old stumps and fallen trees and these are colonial wars of mushrooms.
It's just like with people different types of fungi compete with each other they all eat cellulose but they can't agree with each other and as a result, only one type of fungus remains on the wood.
