Estudió dibujo en la "Escuela de Artesanos de Valencia".

En el año 1885 se trasladó a París y allá descubrió el arte impresionista, e incursionó luego en este.

Contrajo nupcias con Clotilde García del Castillo, en el año 1888. Un año después se instaló con su familia en Madrid, donde comenzó a tener reconocimientos como pintor.

Pintó alrededor de 2.200 obras.

Falleció el 10 de agosto de 1923, en Cercedilla (ESpaña).

This distinguished painter was born on February 27, 1863 in Valencia (Spain). He was orphaned at the age of two. His aunt Isabel, his mother's sister, took care of his upbringing and that of his sister.

He studied drawing at the "Escuela de Artesanos de Valencia".

In 1885 he moved to Paris and there he discovered impressionist art, and later ventured into it.

He married Clotilde García del Castillo in 1888. A year later he settled with his family in Madrid, where he began to gain recognition as a painter.

He painted around 2,200 works.

He died on August 10, 1923, in Cercedilla (Spain).
