Hello 👋 there amazing steemians how are you all doing today I hope all is well and you all are having a great and wonderful day today I will be taking part in a writing contest organised by @dove11 titled "Everything is Fair in Love and War"

INTRODUCTION

---

The story is about a young man who goes by the name John, indeed John was an ambitious student and a dreamer living in the country side in Nigeria.

---

Once upon a time John started college as a new student John had to go through a lot of struggles to be able to know some of the places in campus and sometimes he always misses lectures due to him not knowing the location of where the lectures is to be held.

---

But as time goes by when John was in his second year in college and he started seeing some new faces in campus as John and his friend Prince were sitting under the tree and having snacks.

---

So John asked his friend guy I have not seen this people before and prince said to John that this people that he is seeing are all newly admitted students John said ohh I forgot and they both laughed.

---

As time goes by John saw a very beautiful young girl sitting down alone under the tree near John's department so he took a bold step and approach the lady and said miss what is the problem you look sad.

---

And the young lady replied him say I just missed lectures because I couldn't locate the place were the lectures was being held and to worsen the matter the lecturer gave test and as I'm talking to you I'm just coming back from his office and he didn't even want to listen to me instead he sent me out of his office.

---

Hearing this John felt pity for the young girl and asked her "are you a new student" then she said yes John said okay because he could remember the frustration he also went through when he was a new student also.

So John asked "By the way what is your name" then she said my name is Janet so John took her to his department then met with his departmental president and from there, they took the young girl back to her department and also met with their departmental president and explained the whole thing so they all group and visited the lecturer in his office and managed to convince him to give her the test for her to write ✍️ and luckily for Janet the lecturer agreed to give her a second chance.

So John left after the lecturer agreed to give Janet the test after some time Janet approach John and expressed her gratitude and told John that she took the test and John was happy for her.

---

They became friends and I mean best of friends and after school the always spend time with each other and John has been helping Janet with her assignment and Janet on the other hand has been coming to John's apartment to cook for him so they later fell in love with each other.

---

And due to the love the had for each other they both decided to stay together, so Janet relocated and lived with John while still in school and sometimes John always likes taking Janet to a nearby restaurant especially in the morning when there both have morning lectures so that there won't be late.

The name of the restaurant owner was Sampson and he and John were friends but not best friends, as John had reached his final year and Janet was in her third year there were still living together, John was a nice guy and a happy man who had made Janet a lot of promises including taking her to the beach during the holidays.

But one day everything changed when Sampson the restaurant owner told John that "yesterday evening I saw your girl here dining with a very handsome looking guy".

---

John was shocked caused Janet told him that she was going to her friends house in the neighboring town so as John was living Sampson's restaurants he asked when of the sales man who happens to know him very well "please did Janet come here yesterday" then the salesman said yes.

---

John was shocked and couldn't believe that Janet had to lie to him that triggered John to change his total behaviour towards Janet though Janet tried several times to ask him what the problem was but he said everything is fine but still continued in acting strange and distancing his self from her.

---

This continued for a very long time till Janet couldn't take it any more though she tried to put up with John's strange new behaviour but indeed she was not so happy.

And one day she confronted John in the evening and approach him with soft and comforting words which softens John's bones and he opened up and tell her what was the cause of his change in behaviour.

Then Janet said ohhhhh I remember that day then she further explain to John saying "Baby I was in my Angela's place oo I swear so there was this guy in agric department by name Sam who wanted me to talk to Angela for him because he wanted to date her since Angela wasn't ready to listen to what he had to say"

So John asked how come the both of you ended up in the restaurant then Janet told John that I asked Sam that if he is really interested in Angela and if he wants her to convince Angela into agreeing to date him that he should take her to the restaurant and buy her the most expensive food

---

So after all the explanation John was convinced that Janet wasn't cheating on him so he apologized to Janet and at the same time Janet also apologize to him saying "I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier"

---

But you know for guys seeing is believing so the next day John went to Angela's department and asked her everything and Angela's explanation also rhyme with what Janet said from there he knew that truly his girlfriend Janet was telling the truth.

And in other to make it up to her as he had promised John took Janet to the beach ⛱️🏖️ and the had good time together and made lots of romantic love promises to each other.
