Sacred geometry of the Great Pyramid and the Steemit logo

in #history8 years ago (edited)

"...Many ancient cultures chose to examine reality through the metaphors of geometry and music (music being the study of the proportional laws of sound frequency)..." -[1]

The Great Pyramid is a story written in the universal language of geometry. The knowledge contained within the story is vast and complex, incorporating mathematical formulae, and cosmic reflections. Here are four facts that emerge from the geometry of the GP that you did not know:

1. The height/base/slope relationship creates a golden triangle

Let one side of the base equal 1, then the height would equal √φ and its sloped edge (hypotenuse) would be of length φ, the golden ratio.

"We may write the 'Pythagoras' theorem' of this right-angled triangle as, φ^2= φ +1 . . ." -[2]

This creates a golden triangle and the slope of the hypotenuse is cosA = 1/φ. Long before Pythagoras, the relationship between the sides of a right triangle was understood.

2. The footprint to height ratio = the circumference of a circle to its radius

If the base perimeter of the GP is taken as a metaphorical circle, the radius of that circle would be the height of the GP.

Graham Hancock summarizes: " . . . the sublime geometry of this building integrates π and φ as follows: its height is the radius of a circle whose circumference equals the base perimeter, and its height is the side of a square whose area equals that of each of the four sides." -[2]

Constructing the geometry on paper helps to understand that this couldn't be an accident to create these specific relationships with a pencil or with millions of megaliths. A master geometer incorporated multiple nodes of relatedness within the grand GP.

But this hardly scratches the surface. The depth of knowledge the engineers embedded in the architecture of their temple is astounding.

3. The GP alignment with Earth's cardinal directions is way more accurate than what is practical for a tomb

"We are told that the most accurate north-oriented structure today is the Paris Observatory – however, even this is 6 arc minutes off from true north." -[3]

The sides of the GP are off from true north by only 3 arc minutes, twice the accuracy of the Paris Observatory.

While accuracy within 3 arc minutes of north like that of the GP is possible with today's technology, it is considered impractical. Three arc minutes can't be seen by the eye. Such accuracy is found throughout the GP but for what purpose?

The Paris Observatory was built as a center for innovation. Its precision alignment to the stars is an artistic expression of astronomy. Its purpose was also to house great minds like Cassini and provide them with the best equipment to make new discoveries. Cassini went on to make many discoveries including four moons of Saturn and the large gap in her ring.

The Paris Observatory was a temple for a group of master scientists, selected by the King's minister to make better maps for sea travel.

"[Jean Baptiste Colbert] hoped to organize a staff from the world's foremost scientists, whose discoveries would enhance the Sun King's glory" -[4]

"It can be said that geodesy and cartography as we know them today originated at Paris Observatory." -[4]

The Paris Observatory was not a tomb.

4. The Earth's 23.5° axis tilt, the equator, and the ecliptic plane are precisely revealed

The GP rests nearly exactly at 30° north latitude. A 360° circle divided by 30° into 6 segments makes a hexagon. Once a day the GP passes 6.5 degrees above the plane of the ecliptic.

30° - 6.5° = 23.5°, the tilt of the Earth's axis.

At any latitude the difference of distance would equal the ecliptic, but the King's chamber is tilted 6.5° off from the vertical axis of the GP, clarifying the message.

The engineers clearly point to six-fold geometry, the equator, the ecliptic plane, and therefore the Earth's tilt.

The Earth is the divine sphere. It rotates on an axis tilted 23.5° off perpendicular to the orbital plane.

Or so the Great Pyramid told me.

One would have to be unaware, or ignorant of the geometry to accuse this ancient culture of thinking the Earth is flat.

This is just a taste of the vast amount of data encoded in the pyramid.

Like the Great Pyramid, my geometric construction of the Steemit logo incorporates φ, but before we witness its holy creation, let's clearly define what sacred geometry is.

Sacred geometry is a science/art/religion of our remote ancestors

Sacred geometry is not merely the proofs of Euclidean geometry. It also applies a philosophical, symbolic meaning to the patterns and relationships found throughout nature from the quantum to the cosmic scale.

A great textbook of this ancient knowledge lies in the desert, begging to be studied. It is a gateway to the past, a tool to awaken humanity to their true ancestral roots nearly lost in the great deluge.

The practice of encoding this knowledge in megalithic architecture shows up continually from the new dawn, some 12,000 years ago, to today. Throughout history this ancient knowledge was passed from initiate to initiate and is visible in modern architecture like the layout of Washington DC.

It is thanks to Freemasons like Randall Carlson that this ancient knowledge is decoded and disseminated.

Carlson gives a complete definition of sacred geometry:

Practicing compass and straightedge constructions of patterns and proportions found in nature was thought to balance the divine masculine and feminine aspects of the brain. It was at once an intellectual discipline and a source of spiritual insight.

Geometry is the study of spatial order through the measure and relationships of forms. Geometry and arithmetic, together with astronomy, the science of temporal order through the observation of cyclic movement, constituted the major intellectual disciplines of classical education. The fourth element of this great fourfold syllabus, the Quadrivium, was the study of harmony and music. The laws of simple harmonics were considered to be universals which defined the relationship and interchange between the temporal movements and events of the heavens and the spatial order and development on earth. -[1]

Geometry as a metaphor for universal creation

To create a modified Steemit logo with sacred geometry,

In the beginning is one homogenous unity . . . a circle. The primal division takes place within unity.

"A homogenous unity becomes a polarized duality; the universal, antagonistic and oppositional interaction which forms life: This is yin and yang." -[1]

"The vesica enclosing the primary duality is found everywhere in Egypt as the symbol of Re, the solar, life-giving force, the emanating word, the mouth which speaks the names of the gods, the fractions . . . Thus given with the original scission or contraction into two is the plan of the return: the pentagon, the symbol of life, with its five-fold symmetry which appears only in living organisms." -[1]

". . . the initial division, which simultaneously gives the proportions for the five-fold symmetry, carries with it a teleological message which is that of Life as the force of levity and return toward the light, as we see in plants which grow back toward the radiant energy source, which they embody. This uplifting is given geometrically at the instant creation begins, when one becomes two." -[1]

From this point it requires a 90° rotation and a few more additions. All circles used in this creation come from the proportions and interplay of the triangle, the square, and φ.

Steemit is born.

The pencil would need to be infinitely sharp to create a perfect circle. No such thing exists in the material realm. It can only be approximated. The oak tree's branches grow spiralling around the trunk at positions that approximate φ, but never quite touch the φ archetype which exists in its pure form only in mind, timeless and immaterial.

do you know the work of the architect claude bragdon? he was an early 20th century architect and theosophist who wrote on sacred geometry and its use to create architectural decoration

Well written and interesting explanation of the geometry of the pyramids. I love the logo too.

Thanks. The linked articles go into even more depth. It was an obsession of mine for a while.

Is the steemit logo a modification of the steemit logo or the original with the proportions overlaid? Food they actually get the logo in these proportions originally?

This is a modified, approximation I came up with just by looking at the logo. The actual logo was created by someone else and has different geometry. There was no overlay. Pencil sketches and compass and edge. I probably should have specified. But it looks close and is an elegant architecture that uses the proportions of φ, just like the pyramid.
Edit: I specified "modified Steemit logo"

It looks really cool and might be worth suggesting to the designer as a modification. I think it might appeal to Steem guys especially as the whole deal is about a complicated cryptographic algorithm and is very heavily mathematical focused. If the logo included the proportions you suggested and the golden ratio that would be really cool :)

Well, the design is open. I can teach anyone how to make it with the radii of each circle used, relative to each other. So all they would have to do is msg me.

And thanks! I think it looks cool too.

I have friends who study mathematics at university and they tried to explain to me that mathematic, and geometry too, are universal languages. Now I finally get it. Thanks for the great post.

That's good to hear. Drawing the pyramid is like speaking to your ancestors. Thanks for reading.

Want it digitized ? in vector format :D , :P , good one , I was thinking of a ay to incorporate this , since I'm doing some designs of the logo too , hear that on the upcoming changes in the roadmap , so I though why not make one myself, aaand they turned into 3 :D , nothing is out yet tho

Personally, I like the non-digitized version, but you can use it for whatever you want. You can even chop my name off and change it any way you want.

Awesome post! Followed & upped. I love sacred geometry and was lucky enough to meet Graham Hancock at an event of his a few months ago and chat briefly about this subject.

Funnily enough I posted my first attempt at an animated steemit logo just a few hours ago and someone suggested that I check this post out. Very glad I did!

Looking forward to more from you. I have even added you to my automatic upvote list, so keep up the great work ;)

Thank you for the kind words! I followed you back because I like your content not just because you followed me. Your animated logo is very cool. Upped.

I went to a Graham Hancock talk for the launch of Magicians of the Gods. It was so packed but I still regret not waiting around to get a book signed.

Fingerprints of the Gods changed my life five years ago. Nothing has been the same since!

I saw him in Bali a few months ago talking about the largest underground pyramid structure ever discovered... here in Indonesia. And, needless to say, the government have shut down all further excavation of the area.

Thanks for the follow. No doubt we will enjoy following each other :)

What?! I haven't heard of this underground pyramid. Must google right now. FotG has also had a huge impact on my life. Yes! Always nice to find more people with similar interests.

check gunung padang pyramid

Oh gunung padang, ya ok. I need to learn more about that one.
