I actually just just a hair trimmer on my face with no guard on it. I seriously haven't shaved my face all the way down for probably 5 years because it was irritating my face. The thing is I can't have a groomed beard like you have. It just doesn't look very good on me and it isn't thick enough in spots. Good luck finding something that will work better.
I actually did a little research. Check out the Braun 9 Series. It reportedly works well for thick, course beards and is designed for both a wet or dry shave which warrants against sensitivity. It has multiple blades and a more powerful motor.
