Hello Friends,

Here I am Lucia again trying to find a good and virtuous topic to inscribe and share at the same time to learn about.

So the topic for today is "Being Alive".

The involuntary noises made by the body are part of being alive. So, why do people feel compelled to excuse themselves when that happens? No other animal is rejected or condemned to ostracism by what its organs do. We do not punish a tree for vomiting oxygen, nor cut a plant because it is blooming. Why, then, do we have to beg people to accept our noises, as if they were something we deliberately do?

Sneezing is an example of such an involuntary act. It is the result of something trapped in the channels somewhere that could hinder the breathing process or throw a foreign object into the lungs. To avoid such a catastrophic event, the body rejects it.

Another is belching! The stomach fills with gas that must be released or it could explode. To prevent that from happening, it quickly passes through the eustachian tube and leaves the mouth. The same happens at the other extreme when a fart is impossible to retain.

A cousin of mine once had a strong wind while a group of relatives was walking down a public street. There was no excuse or apology for the sudden escape of gasoline. His mother later declared this fact: "Wherever you are, let your wind be released, because to keep it was my death".

No one died or even thought much about it because it does not matter who you are or where you are, even if the body is alive, it will do what it wants. Instead of apologizing, it would be more appropriate to celebrate the life it gives you. Instead of feeling anxious about the consequences of body noise, use your intelligence to ignore it and you will feel much better.
