Any pregnant woman who consumes alcohol may cause severe harm to her unborn child or children. The placenta of the mother connects to that of the baby, hence significant portions of consumed food substances by the mother whether good or bad are also transferred to the baby. Alcohol can be transferred from the blood of the mother into the baby's blood. The presence of the alcohol in the developing baby can cause damages and significantly affect the growth of the child. The child's brain and spinal cord usually get the most damages. This then can evoke psychological and physiological problems like deformity, growth problems, mental problems, and many others.
It is not advisable for pregnant people to take in alcoholic substances.
