Anxiety

I am 32 years old and for 16 years now I have suffered from anxiety. I wanted to make a solidarity post for anyone and everyone who suffers or who has suffered from anxiety. What terrible feeling(s) we can go through on a weekly or even a daily basis. Anxiety seems to always linger in the back ground just waiting to come out to play whenever it feels it's time. It doesn't seem to matter if something actually went wrong or bad has happened. I would love to have a little bit of a discussion with anyone/everyone on this topic and perhaps we could all help each other feel a little better.

The reason I decided to write this post is because I am having one of the tough times dealing with anxiety right now where the symptoms are bad and frequent. It really makes trying to just live a normal life like everyone else around you a lot more difficult. I constantly am having heart issues, palpitations, cramps and weird symptoms that I imagine are heart attacks. It drives me nuts but I keep plugging away at my daily activities trying to get through the attacks.

Medication

There have been quite a few people that I know who suffer from anxiety who take anti-anxiety or antidepressant medication. I however have never taken any medication and plan on never taking any medication for this either. I do not and will not tell others they shouldn't take medication it's just not for me. I personally don't even like Tylenol or Aspirin.
I did try and purchase Kava Kava root from Hawaii once years ago and tried to drink it several times a day and unfortunately didn't stick with it long enough to see any results.

Fear

Anxiety is all about fear. Or at least that's what I've read and been told. You need to face your fears to rid your anxiety. This seems like it could work for some and it totally won't work for others. If you have a fear of driving lets say and then you get behind the wheel and start driving all around perhaps yes you could get rid of that anxiety. I feel that mine is a little bit more complicated so much so that I don't even fully understand where the issue starts. I have a severe fear of death. Dying is what scares me the most and drives me to think I am having heart attacks or brain aneurysms when in reality is usually just a muscle cramp, heart palpitation, head ache or just simply need a glass of water.

Triggers

I find that money triggers my anxiety. If I have financial issues my anxiety seems to flare up and symptoms become more severe and more frequent. I have to say since losing my business at the beginning of the year I'm starting to feel a lot better. Financially things got bad then worse, then worse again then slowly started to get better. As each day goes on I seem to feel less stress and find more time to relax. I think that this in the long run will be the best medicine I can take.

Steemit Anxiety Group

I would love to be a part of a Steemit anxiety group of some kind if anyone is interested. I do not know how to create a private channel in the Steemit chat. I would like to create a private channel for this anxiety group. If anybody knows how to create this can you please let me know.

I look forward to hearing from all of you and hoping when can all somehow cure ourselves. Perhaps we can at least make each other feel a lot better and that's something I'm more then interested in doing.

Sort:

I did not realize you struggled with anxiety. I had it too when I was going through my depression. Interestingly enough, it is gone and I don't really know when it left. I have a feeling that it was connected with the work that I did to recover from the depression. I've not taken any drugs for over 16 years. I deal with my feelings through talking, self-exploration, meditation, martial arts, off grid living and writing. The land we steward is my sanctuary, so I go for walks in the bush frequently. The next time your lovely wife and I talk, I am more than willing to share what I did to help with those kinds of issues. <3 Peace to you brother. You are not alone and I pray that you find some strategies to help you out with it all. In my experience it is cognative, rather than clinical. Meaning it can be resolved through cognitive work rather than drugs to change the chemical makeup of the brain. I also believe spirit has a huge part to play in it all too as most of our physical symptoms are manifested from emotional or mental issues. Focusing on the physical is a mistake. The whole essence of who you are must be explored. physical, emotional, mental and spiritual!!!

I am very interested in learning more from you White Walking Feather. I need to get rid of this burden. It is always and I mean always lurking. I am excited to know this can be cured through:

talking, self-exploration, meditation, martial arts, off grid living and writing.
This really sounds like the actual cure is living real life with nature and getting away from this fake way society exists.

My wife is a homeopath. Perhaps it is time to talk to her. Part of the treatment includes therapeutic education. The homeopathy helps support the body to release all the trauma that it has experienced in its life time. The remedies will also help deal with any blockages as well and can support the healing process. With those and a proper diet, you may find relief. Are you open to talking to her?

STEEM is a great place to come to. I struggle with similar issues and I feel like seeing the overall positive attitude from most of the STEEM users is really helpful on a day to day basis. Over the years I've had a lot of trouble liking myself. Whether it was girl problems, or shitty job issues I would always take it out on myself. The thoughts inside my head lead me to beat this shit out of myself at times. Literally, KO'd and sent to the ER. I went and got a medical marijuana license and it has made me really believe in the power of CBD's and THC to aid with anxiety and depression. I would 100% support a Steemit help group. Especially after losing our beloved @lauralemons over the past year. We can definitely set up a ChainBB forum and a Discord Channel for starters.

I have thought about CBD gummies maybe I should look into this. I can't smoke pot because it makes me feel more anxiety but maybe that's the high THC kinds. I should try low THC high CBD and see how that feels. Also I would love to join the Discord channel. Let's make one. Do you now how? I also don't know what ChainBB is but I would join that as well.

ChainBB is another gateway to the STEEM blockchain built by @jesta. It's a forum-like site, kinda like a Reddit. It's awesome you should check out the link below. You sign in with your Posting key. I've never created a Discord channel before but it can't be too hard. I'll look into it.

PS you can get CBDs online here legally (this is a ref link because I help market for this company): http://www.phytodabs.com/?afmc=22&utm_campaign=22&utm_source=leaddyno&utm_medium=affiliate

In Canada?

Ahh actually not sure about Canada...

I just looked it up on the site via your link. It's USA only unfortunately

Damn that sucks.
Well here's a new ChainBB forum topic:

Actually, it's not that hard to get CBD products in Canada. In Holland I just got my CBD oil at a nature shop, along with some organic hemp hand lotion.

I take CBD oil before bed. Helps me fall asleep and prevents (to some degree) the nightmares that are common with post trauma and anxiety.

It wasn't hard to find, but this website has CBD gummy bears, and I am now once again considering moving to Canada. I do love the snow.

Hi @hendrix 22 it's all on your unconcious mind as I have seen many people who over come there anxiety and fear and leaves a long life.
Don't be panic and leave a long and brave life.
As u are so brave ,it's all your unconcious mind which make u fear about this.

What do you suggest I do to remove these things from my subconscious mind? Meditation? Diet? What approach should I take?

Good to hear you are staying away from the medication.
I've had some social anxiety myself for most of my life, but managed to largely overcome it (still some work in progress, but I'm getting there) mainly thanks to the insights from the real talk podcasts. First fixing my bad eating habbits and being able to explain where it all came from has been a huge relief for me.

This might help as an introduction

F@ck anxiety! It creeps on us all eventually. I have found exercise & fresh air to be the best thing for my anxiety. I do yoga class as much as possible & there is a big difference in the days I do vs don’t. Recently been to a few jiu jitsu classes & have felt really good after so am going to start to roll regularly. This combines exercise with something difficult (being choked, controlled, etc..) and being directly engaged with people & teamwork to train. So good for the system.

Cbds might work for u but can cause anxiety for me on their own. I like a true clean indica to help me relax & sleep, but every strain, grow, & person is a little different so you have to find what works for you.

I find I do feel better when I get the exercise. I need to find a strain that's perfect for me or cbd gummies or something.

& stay away from the caffeine & sugar!

Sugar is so bad dude. I agree 100%. I love my coffee in the mornings though I switched to no sugar in my coffee a few years ago. I don't drink any pop which is really helpful for me as well

I love coffee, but It makes me anxious, I still drink it. Pop should be illegal or heavily taxed

Hey buddy I feel your pain. It sounds like a lot of it comes from financial stress like losing your business. Thats rough burden to carry around especially for a man and provider of a family. It also wounds your pride, which if you havent figured out is foolish and youll get over that. I go to music when I get anxiety. So dont let that dust collect you are such a talented player and composer. Great songs come out during the hardest struggles of your life. Diet and exercise will help. Also make sure you get enough sleep. Im in your corner buddy and would like to participate in this group so ill keep an eye out. Keep up the good fight brother!

good work @hendrix22
