ShiaoMing is a postman. He is a honest, hard working man. Every day he delivers mail on a scooter, and usually gets home to his family before dinner time.

Towards the end of a long day, he had one last mail to deliver. He typed the address on the envelope into his GPS and just followed the directions.

The GPS kept telling him where to go. The sky was getting dark. It felt like a trip which lasted a life time. The roads got longer and longer and he was anxious to get home, but he had a good work ethic and wanted to get it done.

It seemed like there was less and less traffic and he became the only one left travelling on the road. The buildings got shorter and older as he was going further away from the town.

After what seemed like hours he had to stop and look at the GPS. The GPS indicated to him that the house was just 400m in front to the right when he zoomed out the map. He thought to himself, "okay, so it's just up ahead". Then he kept riding.

What seemed like was going to be a quick minute did not finish for a long time. He continued to ride but the GPS kept saying the house was still a few hundred metres away. He started getting a headache and his eyes became blurry. It started to rain.

He struggled but kept moving forward. Finally the GPS tells him he had arrived. The house seemed so old it seemed unlikely that there was anyone still living in there. It was a registered mail which required a signature, so he rung the door bell and waited.

By this stage ShiaoMing felt so tired and thirsty he needed some water to keep him hydrated. He reached for his water bottle but saw that it was empty. Just before he was about to faint, an old lady dressed in white with long white hair covering her face answered the door.

"Who is it?" ShiaoMing the postman replied: "registered mail". The old lady opened the door. She lookd like she had been living in ancient times wearing a long white robe. ShiaoMing handed her the mail and the machine to sign. She said: "What is this?" ShiaoMing said, just sign your name on the screen.

She took the machine and scribbled on it with the electric pen, looking at it as if she has never used it before. She then said: "Thank you for taking your time, here is a YuanBao for your trouble".

YuanBao is an ancient Chinese currency made out of gold. ShiaoMing thought it was a toy given by an old lady. He said, thanks, haven't seen one in a while, I'll give it to my kids. He put it in his pocket and rode off on the bike.

The ride home was a lot quicker. When he got home and looked at his watch, it seemed like time had reversed and he got home at the usual time. His wife and kids greeted him with dinner on the table but he was too tired to eat. He drank some water and went to sleep.

The next day he woke up and felt the Yuanbao in his pocket. He took it out to show his wife and they both said it felt extremely heavy. He took it to the jewellery store to get it looked at and they told him that it's a genuine YuanBao from the Qing dynasty which is worth $100,000 USD.

ShiaoMing wasn't sure what to make of his experience. He quit his job and started a restaurant business in his own street. "At least I won't have to do as much travelling anymore," he says.
