GROWING STEEMIT - The Official 71 Reputation Post From @papa-pepper
I just landed back in my old hometown some hours ago for the holidays, fully recovered from my illness. There are obviously a lot of things to be getting done while I am in town, but I also got to thinking about another opportunity.
Steemit is in a great growing stage right now, and many other steemians have been starting all sorts of efforts to encourage more people to join our community.
Many of these efforts focus on trying to get big name or well known personalities to join. I think that these are excellent initiatives and that such people could certainly be used to draw many others to steemit.
However, most of us do not know many famous people, and to them, we are nobodies. The results of our efforts in such appeals may not be very promising, but that doesn't mean that we have no role to play. We all know many talented individuals, though they may just be other nobodies.
In fact, when @papa-pepper joined steemit, no one had ever heard of me, and I was a nobody. Yet, steemit gave me a chance, and now I am growing rapidly and making a lot of friends in the process. Recently, I just crept over the 70 reputation line and officially made it all the way up to a 71!!!

Anyway, steemit has been good to me, and I'm not afraid to share that truth. I am back in my hometown and I know many musicians, photographers, artists, writers, and just plain interesting people here. I plan on encouraging some of these unheard of nobodies to come and see what we have been up to.
Like me, many of us will be encountering a lot of people that we already know who we don't see often this Holiday Season. There are of course more important things than steemit that we can talk about, but we all seem to talk about a wide range of subjects.
Why not bring up steemit with some talented and interesting family members and friends?
I just spent more than half the day driving about 750 miles, and it's time for some sleep, but I wanted to put this idea out there before I turned in for the night!

I just joined because I heard about it on a podcast. I definitely think the word is getting out! I'm still learning the ropes, but hope to post soon :).

LOL. Stay safe. I know some sort of famous people but there is only so much I can do with all on my plate now with some of you in the know after the accident.

I am in medical school with them in Indiana. Not sure if they will show up but we talked about Steem for probably 30 minutes. I told them the idea was revolutionary haha, which it is.
You planted the seed and exposed them to the idea.
They know you, so when they are interested, they'll ask for more!
I do not know enough people, so I do try, my wife one of these days who has an account just might start, but as for others, not sure when of if I can talk them into this platform, but I will not give up hope.
My wife too has an account, and may start soon!

71 Congratulations! I can remember way back when you didn't even have a reputation score. Of course none of us had one back then.
I remember that too! (I was a man of little or no reputation!)
I think I was also once a 6, under a the first reputation system!

I seriously thought that the end was near three nights ago!
I really enjoyed reading that post, I'm trying to get more people to join steemit but its harder than I thought.
I know, a few friends of mine got accounts now... but that's about it... no posting or upvoting, they just have accounts...
I got 2 people to join so far, maybe I can get 100 and they all vote for my posts :)
