An update on sparc, an erc20 token reward for boinc credits

Just wanted to update yall, looks like you make 1 sparc per 100k boinc credits, i will see if the stats are the same,
as in grcpool ive earned 15 but i cant see my total credits, if you know how let me know and ill verify the 1 per 100k.
Still dont know about $worth$ or is it worth it, but hey signup is free and getting them if your allready a solo cruncher doesnt cost so might as well get them, and hope for the best.
Anybody with more info, feel free to enlighten us or inform us, thanks!

This is not how it works. They copied the Gridcoin distribution model. That means that there is X SPARC distributed evenly across N projects. Each project gets X/N SPARC split between its users (that are signed up with SPARC) based on how many new credits they earned that week relative to everyone else.
Officially, distribution of SPARC is each Sunday, but given the times it actually happens and the few mistakes they have had to fix, I would wager this is still a manual process.
If's definitely a manual process. My understanding is they pull the statistics from the projects on Tuesday/Wednesday and try to distribution on Friday/Saturday. My impression is the original goal was to distribute everything on the same day the statistics were pooled and updated (your BOINC credit), but that hasn't happened for the last 3 weeks.
I'd definitely like to see that process automated. If that is already too big a hurdle to overcome, I do not see them successfully distributing MATLAB work remotely, let alone COMSOL.

No worries - it is very hard to find this information as the SPARC dev team has been less than forthcoming with it. I ended up emailing them to get the details after they first advertised on the Gridcoin subreddit.
Still, like you mentioned before, no harm collecting the token so long as its free. =)
