Film Festival
I came across this Film Festival submission request a couple of days ago, and it was actually a discussion between my brother and I if it was something I should enter.

The topic is Crypto futures and I think that Gridcoin could be a good fit for that. I'm a professional screenwriter and it's a topic I'm addicted to, so I figure this would be a good pursuit.
Ironically a couple of weeks ago I was pitching movie ideas to friends (and on steemit) to help push Gridcoin and what it does for science.
Now I actually have to put my money where my mouth was and get something going.
The problem I'm running into is my production team is off working... my brother usually produces for me and he's now back at work teaching... 15 hours away. My sister is also working full time so I have to find someone else able to organize a cast and crew.
I could animate something but my system isn't up to how I'd like it.
But...
That's later. Right now is script time so I have to put together something for a ten minute short on Crypto futures and Gridcoin.
Entertaining without it being exposition or advertisement. I think I can pull this off.
Gridcoin the movie... unless I get sued for the title.

I have done storyboards, modelling, rigging, animation and rendering in the past, so if you decide to go for something in that direction I might be able to help you out. Are you on slack or something to keep in touch?
Cool. What program do you model in? I suppose they're universal though?
I mainly worked with Maya, but you can always export to something like fbx.
Maya's good, the animation program I use right now is Iclone which takes fbx.
Do it ... as I said elsewhere : I'm in the bay area and currently collect interviews with crypto devs, fans, users and haters ... I always pitch in a question about Gridcoin too (since it is my favorite coin). I have a decent action cam + mic ... let's chat should you need any footage from here (e.g. I could try to set up an interview with some BOINC maintainers)...
...also: I'd be stoked to see this happen!
actually do you have any shorts finished? Cause you should enter as well then, the more Gridcoin projects we get in there the better our chances of bringing home prizes.
I may need footage though depending on what I do... simply from the short time frame I have.
nice idea ... I'm desperately trying to find the time to cut my first bit together ... although it will be really more like a youtube-videoblog kind-of-thing, so I'm not sure about entering it to a contest ... but yeah, if you need some athmo-footage (e.g. from the uni berkeley campus where the BOINC project originated) or something; I could likely help out. :)

I actually wrote to page 7 on my first idea for a script and should be able to finish it tomorrow; I put in some scenes that'll have to be b-roll of a room of servers running. When it's done an posted are you ok if I hit you up?

Just do it @andrewgenaille, even if you can't make it really high quality, just the fact you did it at all shows people there is passion for the coin and it's message.

I agree. I was just talking over on Discord with @pegasusphysics She's another screenwriter so I can bounce a script her way... just talking to friends in film about the project to call in favours seems to show people are interest in Gridcoin... more so the Boinc project.
