#gratefulvibes - COMMUNITY CHALLENGE DAY 36 - ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE

Positive & uplifting attitudes thrive on Steemit!

Many Steemians are joining the #gratefulvibes challenge

@musclegirlfusion scripted a wonderfully courageous post two days ago. She writes of the perception of being trapped where she is in her job, and the feeling that she was meant for much more. However, in the end her gratitude for the many blessings in her life overcome the the feelings of dissatisfaction.
I believe she is not alone, and that there are many who can relate to these feelings. Please read @musclegirlfusion's candid post here.

Personally, I believe we are all meant to make a difference, although not everyone can change the world. I have a story to share concerning this. You may have heard this one, but I find that it doesn’t hurt to be reminded of it every once in a while.

Once upon a time, there was an old man who used to go to the ocean to do his writing. He had a habit of walking on the beach every morning before he began his work. Early one morning, he was walking along the shore after a big storm had passed and found the vast beach littered with starfish as far as the eye could see, stretching in both directions.
Off in the distance, the old man noticed a small boy approaching. As the boy walked, he paused every so often and as he grew closer, the man could see that he was occasionally bending down to pick up an object and throw it into the sea. The boy came closer still and the man called out, “Good morning! May I ask what it is that you are doing?”
The young boy paused, looked up, and replied “Throwing starfish into the ocean. The tide has washed them up onto the beach and they can’t return to the sea by themselves,” the youth replied. “When the sun gets high, they will die, unless I throw them back into the water.”
The old man replied, “But there must be tens of thousands of starfish on this beach. I’m afraid you won’t really be able to make much of a difference.”
The boy bent down, picked up yet another starfish and threw it as far as he could into the ocean. Then he turned, smiled and said, “It made a difference to that one!

Paradise Found is grateful for positive change

A simple example of making a difference is right here. All of us who have taken the #gratefulvibes challenge are certainly creating positive change. Honestly, I really didn't know it would grow into a community when it was first started. But that is how positive change happens, one ripple in the water can grow into a wave. All it takes is to jump in and start a ripple. Praise the Lord for His good ideas!!

That is how we can make the difference, one step at a time.
Love it and very grateful for you sharing this great story with us.

Yep, I agree. one step at a time. So simple, but hard to accept.
We are always looking for the ah-ha moment.
Start with one step, the ah-ha comes later.
And I believe starting each day with a grateful heart is a step in the right direction!!

If each and everyone of us do one simple thing, what a difference we can make in the world.

Exactly right!! Thank you my friend Ceci!!

Thank you @paradise-found for sharing my post and that story is definitely something I strive to remember. I started my blog to help people focus on living a healthier life style. It's so challenging with so many other people out there doing the same thing that I forget when I help just one or two people it's huge to them. We all have to stop focusing so hard on the larger scheme of things and remember the little things can be huge to someone else. Have a great day!

You are absolutely right!! I'm happy the story is meaningful.

I agree about positive change. I know that writing down what I'm grateful for everyday has had a positive effect in my life! #gratefulvibes
