EU fines Google $2.7 Billion
If it doesn’t end its anti-competitive practices within 90 days Google faces further fines of up to 5% of its $90 billion annual revenues. The EU found that Google had favored its own Google shopping product comparison site over rivals’ sites.
The EU has been investigating Google for seven years The EC has two cases outstanding against Google relating to allegations that the technology company has made it difficult for others to have their apps and search engines pre-installed on Android devices and that Google prevented rivals’ ads from appearing on third-party websites that had installed a Google-powered search box.
