Golden Hour Photography: On The Ferry
After over 25 years of living in New York City, I went back home to San Francisco in late 2015 for almost a year and a half. Rent was extraordinarily expensive, so I found myself living in Napa County and commuting from downtown San Francisco everyday. This was difficult as I had not been used to such a long commute and I was tired all the time. I was aggravated over the fact that I could not live in the city I was born and raised, and where the majority of my family lived.
I took this photo on my way home from work one day and it was moments like these that I found some semblance of peace. The temperature was much warmer than New York City. The views were always so lovely, and although the local population had changed quite a bit I found some very good friends.
Typically, It was during the golden hour that I was on my way home, so I have plenty of photos to share. The variant array of colors in the sky from this area have always been mesmerizing and delicious. I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I do. Peace.

Wow, beautiful shot! I also submitted a photo in this contest but I think yours is better :D
Oh thank you so much @phortun! I hope you are well and having a great end of the week. I miss your posts. I've been busy, but I'll take a quick look shortly. I'm doing a long blog on a Goddess. LOL!
No problem :) I usually only post once a day not to overwhelm my tiny follower base so you didnt miss much ;) Good luck on your new post, looking forward to reading it! :)
I can't wait to look at yours too and thank you. There are some pretty hefty players lately, they all look like professionals. It makes me want to run out and purchase a fancy camera instead of using my iPhone all the time. LOL
Hahahaha exactly!!! :D I already decided to get a real camera but I will do that once I return to my home country (dont want to buy it here in Mexico) Until then, I will be using my cell phone. It is so hard to compete against these pro-guys though :D We can only wish good luck and support each other :D

That view alone would make the commute worth it. :D That is a stunning photograph, I love all the colors and the backwash from the boat/ferry you were on when you took it. This would make an awesome jigsaw puzzle! :D
God bless you, have an awesome day! :D
@frostyamber thank you very much for your very nice comment. The view was nice but not the 1.5 hour commute one way. I think I also prefer country life now. I’m hoping to buy land in the Colorado mountains now and that’s more my speed. I needed something a little slower. It would make a great jigsaw! I love doing puzzles, it’s a family favorite thing to do especially during this time of year. Happy holidays!
Yes I can see how driving for 3 hours a day to get to work and home again would be exhausting. I don't blame you for wanting the country life, I wouldn't move back to a city again for anything. :D I hear the Colorado mountains are beautiful so no one could fault you for wanting to settle down there. :D I'm a huge fan of jigsaw puzzles but my eyes are at the point where its hard to do them, maybe I'll find some really big size piece puzzles around. :D When my kids were younger we'd play games or watch Christmas movies on Christmas eve, Christmas day and Boxing day. :D There is nothing better than spending time, and having fun with, your loved ones. :D
God bless you and your family! Merry Christmas! Have an awesome day! :D
Yes the trip was exhausting and cold! I will post a lot more on Colorado mountains, they are breathtaking. I am so in awe everytime I’m in them and I go almost every weekend. I’m sorry about your eyes, I just had Lasik after having real bad eyesight since I was 12 years old. Yes I miss the days of big family holidays and fun. God bless you too and thank you so much for sharing your feelings and blessings. Merry Xmas!! Hugs 🤗
I look forward to seeing more pictures of the Colorado mountains in future posts. :D Good eyesight or bad eyesight, tall or short, thin or voluptuous, its all part of God's plan and the genetics He chose for us as part of it. :D
Thank you for the hugs and please accept hugs back. :D Merry Christmas to you as well. :D God bless you and your family. Have an awesome day! :D
Accepted! Warmly. I may tag you in my next mountain post if thats okay? I was thinking of the photos I took on a recent glacier hike. You might like them. :)
I'd be very happy if you did. I have a hard time finding things on occasion. :D I bet they're beautiful and can't wait to see them. :D God bless, have an awesome day my fabulous friend! :D
Yay! Okay —coming soon!
