Imagine, if you will, that there are two islands. We shall call the first Island Earth, and the second, Heaven. Earth represents the human experience as seen through a godless perspective. Heaven represents the intended destination for those on Earth who are looking for something more than the Island is capable of providing. They are looking for union with the Creator, and know the Creator to reside at the Island named Heaven, which they can see a few hundred metres across the ocean. The people began to wonder.

"How do we get there?" They asked one another.

Some self-proclaimed Holy men claimed to have the answer.

"We will build ships!" Said they.

Hungry for a date with divinity, many of the people agreed, and helped to fund the development of the ships which would soon transport them to the Island of their Creator.

When the ships were built, the people all chose which one they liked the best and jumped on it, eager to get going to their eternal destination.

A decade later, Heaven remained populated solely by God, who stood upon the beach in wait for the people. God observed from afar as every one of the ships circled Earth repeatedly, never heading in the direction of Heaven.

While some of the ships had left the harbour and headed straight for Heaven, the captains were soon murdered and replaced. The new captains immediately changed course away from Heaven, and rejoined the other ships, which had never intended to go to Heaven, and were instead circling Earth, continuously picking up more people who desired to go Heaven.

You see, the captains of these ships were really just agents of Earth. These trouble-makers, who wanted more than the material wealth they could acquire from Earth, were a major problem. The agents of Earth cared not to have them propagate this sentiment among the people who might then also want more than what the Island of Earth could offer. This would not be good for the endurance of Earth, nor its economy -and certainly not for the self-proclaimed owners of Earth or their agents.

One day, however, a young man had a spark of imagination. He decided to create a mini-ship, which he named a raft, and he set out to reach the Island of Heaven. Within an hour, the young man found the voice of God upon his ear, alerting him to the fact that God had been waiting a long time for him. Within three hours, the man was there, on the the beach, with God, and with happiness.

But then the young man turned around. He looked out upon the ocean and saw his brothers and sisters, trapped upon ships going around in circles, forever evading the one place they all dreamed of going. He turned to God and said, "I have been searching for you all my life; and now I've found you. But, I can't leave them behind. Will you give me what I need to help them?"

God looked upon the boy and said; "My son, you have always had what you need."

The man heard God's voice from both in front of him - where God stood - and also from within his own body.

A moment of thought passed as he reflected upon the words of God, and where they had emanated from.

"We shall see you soon," said the man to God, before sprinting down the beach and diving into the ocean, his raft still buried in the sand.

"I know," replied God.

This reminds me of a great writing, that I once tried to promote. I like posts about alternate interactions with God, in different forms than most of the people think of. Nice writing!

Yes, I like it. Though I feel I've read it before. If you shared it here on Steemit before, perhaps I read it at a time when I was stoned and therefore don't remember it is as well as I should.

It's more fitting now though and I'm able to appreciate it more; because the accepting of the belief in reincarnation has only come recently for me.

Yes, I have shared it here too, made a post about it encouraging people to read it, but it id not had such a great success :)) I am glad that you liked it and that you have read it twice, at least you :D
