SBD is trading below 1 USD right now because select groups are taking advantage of the SBD into STEEM conversion.
Remember when SBD was at $12? The big groups and whale-like individuals who manipulated the steem economy to that point knew about it. It was all set up.
That's why steem is so "low" now. In my opinion, it shouldn't stop losing value any time soon, either. Unless someone starts buying a lot of our blockchain's currency. STEEM is give and take. It's illogical to expect prices to hold if noone is actively investing back.
This is why it's important to link other sources of income with steemit, like I've suggested posting your YouTube videos on steemit instead of using dapp services.
SBD as been under $1 for a while now and slowly going down but it is also fighting back now, so it will be interesting to see what will happen.
Haha how can one forget such times when SBD was up so high what a fortunate time to be on Steem.
Many are still buying into Steem when such opportunities arise except those who are buying are doing so in smaller quantities as they are not whales but I think this will actually make Steemit.com better in future as the wealth is being spread about more to those who missed the opportunity the first time round, the Steem I have as been locked into my account for over 2 years I have never powered down once all those who vote on me continue to keep Steems value.
Excellent point @felipejoys one should not put all their eggs in one basket instead post on other platforms.
Steemit is like a side hustle open to anyone. :)

I am still a newbie in steemit and I always use to see steem price roaming around in a range of 1.0-0.8 usd but I really saw this much price drop first time. I heard that once steem price was nearly 14$! Then how can this come to lower? You are right to link other things to strrm but will it be enough?
I think first of all we should ban paid vote services and focus on the thing that the votes goes to the user who is really working hard and earns it. Many people leave steemit cause they dont get paid off instead of their hard work. Less people, less investment, less profit.
I dont know if i am right that it will help steem rise again in 1 day... But it will defenately bring new users into this platform alongwith more investments.

Steem got to $14 because of price manipulation. Doing stuff elsewhere boosts our own income, and that's why we're posting here instead of Facebook, so it helps! Paid vote services will continue, as they are services, and whenever someone steps over the line, there is usually some "local police" who will interfere, like anti-abuse communities. Those who work hard do get quite the advantage. If someone is working hard but not getting upvotes, well they are doing something wrong, like not growing their contact network. Steem is a work platform, so it will be okay one way or the other.
