Tomato Update 2
It's been a little while so I thought I'd give an update on my tomato plants.
As you can see they're still growing super strong and tall! I'm quite pleased with them, especially since I've had a couple pathetic failed attempts with tomato plants grown from seed in the past.
I'll have to start moving some of them out of the greenhouse soon, they're getting too big for the top shelf. My plan is to move the ones on the shelf and allow the others to keep growing within the frame of the greenhouse, acting as supports for them. Most of the varieties on top are cherry tomatoes so my plan should work well.
This is my first year with the greenhouse so there's a bit of a learning curve there. Yesterday I was out for a few hours during the hottest part of the day. It was about 28°C and I didn't unzip the greenhouse door before I left.
The humidity got pretty crazy and when I came home I noticed these tiny beads of water on the tips of my plants.
Which leaves me with the question, how much humidity is too much? The internet isn't great with giving me a straight answer on this so if anyone has advice I would very much appreciate it! I would think if there's beads of moisture on them that that would be too much, but I also know tomato plants generally enjoy a decent amount of humidity.
Usually I open the greenhouse door at some point during the day, if nothing else but for better air flow as I do not have a fan inside there.
And the most exciting part?
I've got flower buds starting!!!
In MAY!
In cold Canada! 😆
So crazy that I'll be eating fresh tomatoes in no time! Can't freakin' wait!
Take care Steemians! 🍅

IM not well educated on tomatoes. But I know cannabis in veg stage likes 50-70%, and in flower stage its best to have 40-50%. Mold likes to grow above 50%. But as long as you have a nice breeze your good. I constantly battle white mildew indoors but I use neem oil to protect against it.
Tomatoes and cannabis are great companion plants! LoL
I haven't noticed any mildew issues or anything yet, but I have neem oil on hand as well in case something decides my plants are tasty LoL
Thank you for the info!!!
they are best right off the vine !
Yes!!! And when they're warmed by the sun too, I can't wait!!! :)
I've got three types of cherry tomatoes growing for just that purpose!
