Andrena is a genus, not a species; there are over 1400 kinds of Andrena, 600 in Europe alone! Here's one I saw over the weekend, an Andrena vaga:

do you know that they smell like the last flower they sniffed? You should try picking up one and smell it.

I have never sniffed a bee, I would remember that 8-). Not sure I want to, I think I'll leave them alone, they are too easy to inhale. The are cute though, aren't they?
