Let's Play SHADOWVERSE - the Number #1 Digital Card Battle Game in Japan!

The game is developed by Cygames Inc., the studio that brought us the acclaimed RPG Granblue Fantasy and as well as Rage of the Bahamut. It's relatively new to the mobile CCG (collectible card game) scene but it's unique story, characters and groundbreaking mechanics has captured not only the attention but also the hearts of card game players worldwide.
I played Magic the Gathering and Hearthstone before and I'd say it's more dynamic & fast paced and there's something in store for both PVE and PVP players. PVE'rs can immerse themselves in the lore and embark in story quests and challenges while PVP'ers will be right at home in the various online match modes.
What sets Shadowverse apart from other card games is it's Evolution mechanic that enables you to empower creature cards to more powerful versions. Not only do they get extra power and defense but even gain or activate various effects and abilities!
There's a very active community and tournaments are being held frequently. There have also been crossovers from other games! The latest one was with Street Fighter V - you can replace the main Shadowverse characters with brawlers from the game. 😊
Speaking of characters let's meet the heroes and villains(?) of Shadowverse!
ARISA - Forestcraft
In Shadowverse, users of Forestcraft gain bonuses based on the number of cards they play during their turn and can quickly fill the battlefield with low cost forest creatures.
ISABELLE - Runecraft
Considered a prodigy in the art of alchemy, a tragic incident made her focus all her research and experiments to reviving the dead in the hope of restoring her beloved back to life. She will lash out with the force of Runecraft at anyone who gets in her way.
The wizardly ways of Runecraft increases the power of the players' spells with every other spell he or she casts during their turn via a mechanic called Spellboost.
ROWEN - Dragoncraft
One of the valiant commanders in the Royal Army. He is coming to terms with a disastrous encounter that wiped out his squad. In the battlefield, he is a natural in the ways of Dragoncraft .
This craft's exclusive mechanic called Overflow empowers the players' cards once they reach 7 actions points, giving them an edge midway into the game. Adherents of Dragoncraft can summon monstrous dragons to their aid.
LUNA - Shadowcraft
A mysterious little girl who likes to go on "adventures" with her Mother and Father. Once in a while she will leave their mansion with her cute stuffed toy in hand and use Shadowcraft to "play" with strangers.
Summoned creatures of Shadowcraft have the Last Words ability that give extra effects when they leave play. Also, Shadowcraft has the Necromancy mechanic which gives shadow points to the user that will be used to empower Necromancy spells and abilities.
ERIKA - Swordcraft
Faithful bodyguard and chambermaid to the Princess. Her burdensome past is catching up with her, steadily weighing down on her soul and making her question her loyalty. She will crush enemies with her skills in Swordcraft.
Using this craft will gain you Commander and Officer cards that empower one other when both are in play. Swordcraft followers can also call allies when played, giving you advantage in numbers.
URIAS - Bloodcraft
An immortal vampire, imprisoned for centuries but now released from his shackles. He longs for the excitement of gruelling battles, like the ones he had with the hero Balthazar. His foes will know the might of his Bloodcraft.
A number of spells in Bloodcraft give self-inflicted damage, but this is used to activate the mechanic called Vengeance. Once a Blood player's health is reduced to 10, their spells and creatures gain bonuses and extra abilities. Followers of Bloodcraft must learn to effectively manage their health points to achieve victory.
ERIS - Havencraft
Before she entered holy service, she was found without any memories. Now she is a fervent priestess who rose in the ranks of the Church, serving selflessly and wielding the art of Havencraft for the good of all. A chance encounter with someone who looks exactly like her might help her regain her past.
Restorative spells and powerful banishings are the mark of Havencraft. The exclusive mechanic of Countdown Amulets sets a relic down in the play field which will activate skills and abilities or summon powerful creatures after a number of turns.

STOPI tried Shadowverse, it was fun! But Im in love with deck building (although I'm horrible at it), so straying away from Magic: the Gathering for too long makes me want to build for the Modern format again.
