Guardian Angel: Call of Duty Strike Team Walkthrough Part 10

The darkest hour they say, is just right before the dawn. The last episode was a dark one, our darkest so far. If we're to go by the parlance, then we should expect this episode to be significantly better. We just escaped death by an hair's breadth. We did die though, Reed did. Nonetheless, we just escaped a now dreaded zone but we are still within the vicinity.

SITREP: ANA forces requesting immediate air support. AC-130 en-route. Multiple casualties in need of immediate extrication.

We settle for the guns we used in the last episode, they are quite effective. All armors and pecks still stand as we proceed into the mission. It is a serene environment - for now - and it seems as though the sky was pregnant with rain. The trio of Dubois, Reed and Marshall are seen. The aforementioned duo are to escort Dubois to the operational base. That look simple? That's how it always seem but until you experience the challenge that lies ahead, you'll never know. Dubois makes a run shoot for it and takes on the enemies who are just few buildings away. While Reed and Marshall stay behind, I decide to observe things from the drone view.

As suspected, he is taking cover behind a barricade. Not totally expected though because a part of me actually thought he would have killed up to 3 hostiles. I found something interesting and new. Apparently, we can throw hand and frag grenades from the drone view above and but it's not like it has enhanced devastation. We are just to touch the icons and drag indicators over a target. But as simple and basic as the instructions seemed, we failed. There are some targets that can't be hit - probably because they are far off - and while I thought it was a bug, I misfire and land a grenade right beside Onslaught. While we are thankful that none of us was hurt, hostiles troop in. The sound must have attracted them.

Both Reed and Marshall quickly get to action. Marshall does well to scare of the enemies to a reasonable distance with his highly sophisticated and effective gun. I had mentioned in the previous episode that characters are quite bad with autonomous shooting, a corroboration play out. Reed, with his deadly sniper rifle, fires repeatedly at the enemies but his shots amount to nothing. Only when I scampered back to control Reed was I able to kill them with just 3 well aimed shot. That "well aimed" is the problem. The three of them run up the hills and take on more enemies in a handicap match.

The environment now looks more creepy because all of the buildings in the area are dilapidated. Not because they looked aged, but due to the incessant war. Dubois gets into action and he kills two-three hostiles. The buildings are even more "Enemy-ridden" and the team have to tread more carefully. They all advance towards a locked door and it is breached. Three kills are made in quick succession to Marshall's name and they sweep through the area, clearing any hostile residues out of the place. This area was once in our control so it's not like we are unlawfully chasing them out, we're just taking back what's ours. A new objective has just popped in for us.

A sizeable number of Dubois's allies are held up by hostiles at an area not far from here. They've constantly radioed to us for help over the past few minutes and we are finally about to get them out. Dubois is to attempt the rescue as we provide cover fire. It's not that we've been given their location, we're just preparing their release. As Reed gets up the stairs to provide cover fire, he spots the objective's location. He has just been provided with his most loved weapon, a mini-gun. From that height, extreme devastation is assured. Enemies troop in from all possible angles in their waves but the machine gun, coupled with the scattered petrol barrels which explodes on shot, is able to make a short work out of them. He is to get down and RV with dubois.

It appears to be an ambush by the enemy as Onslaught regroups with Dubois. They are not done with us yet. Unfortunately for them, it's the same case at our end. We probably would have had a couple of game restarts if we had not clinched together to form a formidable force with superior firepower, even when outnumbered. The hostiles remind me of the series "Tom Clancy's Jack ryan" which illustrated a large part of terrorism. Their attires are quite similar to what is worn by the hostiles here. The fight is over now and we are to regroup with the stranded A.N.A team. I hitherto thought all of A.N.A team were vanquished, I never knew some of them were held up in a shithole.

Oh wait! The fight is not yet over! It is another ambush. Only that this time, more organized. I guess the score is 1-1 since they equally man a mini-gun. Marshall's light machine gun can only do little since the enemies are somewhat far away, hiding behind covers. Reed's sniper rifle is perfect for situations such as this. Reed comes in and tries to help with the situation but his position is too vulnerable to shots. He comes under fire from the mini-gun and dies. He is subsequently resurrected with the resuscitating injection after which he quickly hides behind another cover. He is now right in front of the aggrieved shooter who fires sporadically from the back of a truck. The drone strike now proves useful as he is taken out with ease without lifting much of a finger

One last stop before the regroup. The entrance is being guarded by a turret and a shooter. Both the turret and Mini-gun have always been our problem, but while the mini-gun's rain of bullet can be stopped by taking out the hostile behind it, this is completely independent of external influence and can only be silenced once it is brain dead. It scans the whole area for movements and and subsequently takes out any potential threat. Onslaught team tries to get the Turret within drone range but it guns down Reed. Reed is injected and as he recovers from the shock, he is moved to a closer position to the turret. Well, it's not like the drone grenade is different from the one used in FPS mode, just that this has better precision. It is used to take the turret out with relative ease.

Moment! Onslaught reunites with A.N.A and the moment was thought to be ended. Not until I am required to provide air support for the whole team. It feels a bit strange as it's been a while since I controlled this thing. Air support is one thing, via the drone is another. The black and white view can be very confusing. Enemies encircle the team but I make sure I pulverize each and every one of them. The guns are just two; while one deals heavy damage and has a high blast range, the other is a complete contrast. Enemy Helo appear, to assist the hostiles but it is given a direct hit and flies off reach. The enemies up their game by increasing their numbers and the Helo returns for another round. This time, it is given two does of the Drone missile and it flies haphazardly as it crashes into the ground. The soldiers all move up to the rendezvous point and the mission complete. We already have a sneak peak into what our next mission entails though,

A Tank!
