A DISH BEST SERVED COLD: Call of Duty Strike Team Walkthrough Part 6 — New Teammate, Leaving the Arctic, Character Death, 30% Complete.

in #gaming6 years ago (edited)

SITREP: Air support is in bound but the base is on full alert. Evac will be across the ice floa at the stricken breaker. Stay Sharp, it's going to get hot.

This is our final mission in the Arctic; we are leaving yes, but not so fast. Of course, we were able to foil the missile launch - which was harder than we thought- is it the lilly-livered Spetsnaz team that left Onslaught all offense? Or the defensive role we played when we had to shield them from enemy attacks. The only compensation there is, they did their job - Compromising the missile coordinates and averting disaster. We just need to get out of the artic, our paramount objective.

A BIT OF CONFUSION

On a normal note, before the game begins, you are shown your team members and their equipped weapons (Guns, bombs, Armor, Pecks, E.t.c). All these while, we've seen four character slots, two of which belong to Marshall and Reed while the other two are not selectable. Well, spoiler, We have a new team member - Chivaz - Welcome to the team. It doesn't end there, all our rifle sections are empty, meaning we won't be needing our regulars for this mission. What could it be? What could be happening?

Oh no! I hate controlling this! Yes, it's a drone - not a bird nor a plane . The scene starts as a continuation of the last episode where the missile launches and Onslaught requests support as they proceed to EVAC. Apparently, I will be playing as overlord and ensure the team's safety. So I'm actually not going to play as Chivaz, that's sad. It's the typical black & white drone visual, I only wonder why drone and CCTC footages are not coloured or hd, I've been meaning to research this but I just forget again.

It's kind of hard controlling the weapon from above: Quite frankly, it is strange. The enemies are marked red while your allies (Onslaught team) are tagged green. It's not like they are entirely idle by the way, they automatically shoot enemies on sight but I believe their shots are not enough hence, the need for additional - air - support. One has to be careful with the shots though, if the bullet hits your allies, it can injure or kill them - which is realistic to me. Well, it's not that the gun is a mini-missile or something with a sparingly high blast range, it's just like the mini gun we used in previous episodes and more like it, it overheats and requires a short cool down period after that. The ammo is just unlimited.

The enemies are quite wise, imagine a situation where they get so close to your friendlies and you can't just risk taking the shot to avoid collateral damage and you just hope and pray Onslaught team can control the situation . We can't afford any death now, it will lead send us back to a checkpoint and its not like we've reached any. It's also a bit hard to kill the enemies because they split, they stay far apart from each other and since the gun lacks precise kill unlike the way it is done via the FPS mode, it becomes harder to single out and eliminate a target. Even before you do, you've wasted time and it is not a luxury we can afford, not at the moment.

Now things get better, we complete our first objective with the drone. It has led Onslaught team to the point it can. Now it is partly up to them. Partly? Yes, the drone did most of the job so all the credit goes to it so it was fully the drone. Now it is partly their job to get out and partly the Helo's job. Just as you guessed, I'm to control a Helo as another air support, all just to speed up the EVAC process. The extraction route is an infected one, infected with a lot of enemies and the Helo's job is to clear them. I thought things would get better, but it's actually worse; With the drone, you can only focus on attacking (shooting your enemies without worrying about yourself because no harm can get to you), but with this Helo, we are susceptible to gunshots and even RPGs! The first RPG hit us, real hard that I almost couldn't hear the sounds of gunshots clearly. Bur I was able to prevent the second and third one from dealing further damage.

We move forward to another location, where we can now see the Onslaught team. We were ahead of them before, clearing the route for them so it wasn't a mutual attack, now it is. The hostiles with RPG are positioned at strategic location, a vantage point. While the others fired continuous shots at us, just enough to distract us from the impending explosion. Well their plan worked, the helo was taken down and I was required to pay 5 coins for a certain number of kits needed to revive my team. Admitted, I was wrong about the checkpoint notion, there is no checkpoint. After death, you spend to keep revive the team at that very spot. And by death, I mean team death (the duo). If only one of them dies, you can immediately inject him to awaken him for free, the situation is only different if two characters die- which I have not experienced until now. Speaks volume of my dexterity

DOOMSDAY!

Just after we eliminate the threats and are about to heave at least a sigh of relief, we are told EVAC is not possible without clearing the incoming threat. What threat?

Enemy Helo! These guys are hell bent on forestalling our EVAC plans. This is the by far, the greatest challenge so far. The Helos has some sort of planned and coordinated attack. It fires continuously with some kind of mini gun and at regular intervals, it fires a missile at us. The first two hit us and it destroyed the Helo. I had to revive and replay. This time though, I didn't only focus on shooting down the Enemy Helo, I also focused on destroying the RPG before they get to a close range. It's a bit hard because you have to pan camera quite well and just in time to destroy it. After exchange of bullets, the enemy Helo is finally destroyed.

The EVAC process starts immediately after our Helo successful lands. The Onslaught team scurries in order to load themselves into the back of the plane. But... Hostiles soon arrive and they fire at us. Time, like I said isn't a luxury we can afford; The Helo proceeds to take off and a teammate is almost left behind. But for the timely intervention of his friend who outstretched his arms for him to cling on, he would have been left behind.

The joy is shortlived

image

A bullet flies into his torso and he looses his grip! He falls back all the way from the top (the plane's altitude is not so high though). The shock that trails the moment is complemented by an apparent RPG hit! The plane vibrates violently and the ensuing chaos metamorphoses into oblivion. I don't even know the unfortunate Onslaught team member who was hit because they are always on helmet. Well, the next episode should shed more light on it.

Looks very real these games, like movies!

Yes.. And more plausible being a mobile game. It's a pity mobile game developers have drifted off storyline at the moment and continue to roll out more battle royales

You know better!
