"Andraste's tits! What was all that? Were those demons?! There aren't anymore blasted demons coming, right?"

-A Fereldan Mercenary (Dragon Age: Inquisition)

Hey, have you been looking for some more fun dungeon crawler game but still haven't find one? Because you might like this one. A game called Crawl, a dungeon crawler game with a unique concept you rarely or probably never see in video games these days.

Developed and published by Powerhoof, the game simply named Crawl yet is simply one of the best dugeon crawler games out there. It's a fast paced action game. Really fast like, turbo charged fast.

Pixel art graphics... me likey. The kind of game that uses pixel art graphics may not appeal to many gamers, but the chaotic fun gameplay may make you stay.

So first, what is Crawl? Crawl is a local multiplayer dungeon crawler game where your friends will be the monsters that try to kill you. Crawl consist of four players with one player play as a Hero and the other three would be the monsters. As the Hero make his/her way through the dungeon, the monster players will try to kill the Hero player and the one that succeded to do so will take the role as a Hero.

There are currently 61 available monsters that you can evolve each with special ability. From little vermin to demons and dragons. The other three players are not play as monsters from the start.

They start from a harmless ghost first, and then try to kill the Hero by possessing traps and statues. Pentagrams will randomly appear on the ground in which the ghosts must stand on in order to transform into mosters that could deal physical damage to the Hero.

And what about the Hero? What's the goal? The goal is to gain XP as fast as possible to face the hulking final boss that the limbs cooperatively controlled by your friends. Also, to have fun fighting with the huge variety of weapons and abilities.

Have you ever seen Gaben doing shoryuken before? No.

Around April 2015 Crawl Designer Barney Cumming emailed Gabe Newell to ask for permission to make him a character in the game and turns out he was ok with it. On 15 May 2015, Update v0.5: Flame Skeleton was announced with "New monster: Gaben" in it. Gaben have 'Super Saiyan' mode that will transform him into his bearded look with multiplied power.

There's a chance Gabe Newell will spawn as a statue in any room on any floor and can be possessed by a ghost player. He is the strongest non-boss monster in the game. Fantastic.

Crawl is available on Steam, or you can get it from the official website if you want the DRM free version; Powerhoof's Crawl. This game is also available on Nintendo Switch since yesterday, 19 December, excitedly announced for its perfect timing for Christmas.

Currently Crawl is a local multiplayer game, but because of the high demand for online multiplayer game there might be a chance that it will be implemented. Powerhoof would love to add that feature, but no promises as it's a huge task to complete. Well, even so, at least they try to make it work. More game developer that actually listen to their fans? Yes please.

I saw this was coming to Switch. Ill have to pick it up once I have some extra Switch controllers. It looks interesting and fun.

Yes, and also funny hahah. I think I'll get this too, once I can convince enough friends to play with.. (Most of them are not into pixel art stuff)

very interesting game. these days pretty much anybody can get their hands on a game engine and start making a game. there's so many creative indies out there i love it.

I know right, and so many times these indie devs creations are as 'huge' and great as the games from (some of) the giant game dev companies. Indie developers make me love gaming even more..
