White Paper Games ('Ether One') presents The Occupation, a videogame of first-person adventures where the player can mark the political and social destiny of the United Kingdom. Set in the northwest of England in 1987, a terrorist attack has killed 23 people and triggered the possible approval of the Union Act, a controversial law against the civil liberties of British citizens. Now, in the role of a journalist, you have four hours to investigate and sign an article capable of changing that destiny.

My opinion after playing:

The Occupation is a videogame that has a great narrative structure and offers a very interesting playable proposal at the beginning, presenting an unusual freedom in our journey when collecting clues and investigating what happened after the attack. Its political and social context is nothing short of excellent, with a script in which some parallels can be drawn with the real situation that exists in the United Kingdom and its shameful exit from the European Union, or with the controversial Patriotic Act that promoted the US government of George W. Bush after the attacks of September 11, 2001. Rich and well dosed, this political thriller for consoles and PC enjoys a setting and an enviable setting, but fails to get rid of a minute or solve a series of mechanics and technical elements that spoil the video game, like the nefarious system of stealth. A shame.
