No Man's Sky Received A Major Update!
No Man's Sky is a game where you can explore space and worlds in a nearly infinite universe, both for PC and PS4, released in August 2016 (one year ago). When it first came out people felt the game got repetitive and boring fast, and the game obtained many negative reviews. Over time, Hello Games (game's developer) began adding free updates. Previously it had added the Foundation update which allowed players to build bases and own freighters, and then the Path Finder, which added the possibility for players of owning up to three ground vehicles. It also allowed owning and storing additional ships inside your freighter.
Today, August 11 of 2017, a third update, titled Atlas Rises, got released. It adds plenty of new features, such as a storyline quest, more diverse worlds and visuals, crashed freighters on planets, more diverse structures, at least a new race (earlier on I ran into a being that was decidedly not Gek, Korvax or Vykeen), random missions from guild, fully operational portals, and multiplayer. Multiplayer is still fairly limited, but you can see other players and chat with them.
Below some screenshots from this new update. These are actual game screenshots, no modding, no tricks. Enjoy!

There are probably a lot more we have not seen yet. There was also a setback, to give it a name: The No Man's Sky universe got reset, causing that most planets are now totally different, or in some cases, no longer exists. Some people found their bases in outer space, for example, like this:
Before the update, the base was at some planet. After the update, said planet does not exist anymore. Image by Reddit user calash_nec Many players are now on the hunt for a new planet so they can build/rebuild their base there.
All in all I'm curious about how this will unfold. :)
Right now I'm on a quest to approach the center of the Euclid galaxy. I do not plan to exit the galaxy but I plan on building a major settlement there, hopefully with a portal not far away.

PC version seems to have mods but PS4 seems like a more sure thing
