You can't really experience the best MMORPG dungeons ever made
What are dungeons about? That's easy - they give a complete experience... A completely realized adventure. They feel a lot different when you're leveling up through them instead of endlessly mob grinding. You go in for a reason, delve into the unexpected and hopefully get the job done.

The best game at dungeon delving could be no other than Dungeons & Dragons Online itself. Not Neverwinter, but the original D&D online RPG. I played it back when it was pay to play and I played it again when it went free to play. Oh do I miss those days. Nostalgia always hits me when I think about it. It's such a shame.
How could they make it so ordinary yet so unique? Groups needed fighters to withstand attackers, a rogue for lethal traps, casters to get rid of a lot of small fry and deal with the really brute enemies. Not like any of them could survive without a healer, though. But then it all really clicks together.
Let's say you're a caster. Your party just entered a very wide hall and atackers are shooting at you from far away both at your east and west while many guards are rushing at your allies. You have to cast web so your front line doesn't get swarmed up, but your healer is the enemy fireballs' target! But where is the shaman responsible for this? While scouting before the cleric gets killed, one of the faster guards reach up to you and - CRITICAL HIT! You're a departed soul waiting to get carried back to the last checkpoint.
That's the kind of excitement you'd get any day while adventuring with your friends. And boy were those dungeons fun! They are all very well crafted. They have to be, since their the main attraction of the game. All of your leveling up is done completing dungeons.
But then new producers took over, and thirst for money took over. Each update made the core game easier. New players can't feel the original grouping experience anymore because it's all about individual rushing. The grouping experience was the game's main feature - and that's gone now.
No other game would ever replicate this feeling. The best dungeons ever, forsaken for the sake of getting to the "good part" - which is now simply having the best loot from rushing through the newest raids.
You can still try playing as if it all never happened - but the talent system and the powerful common gear will make it easy and shallow.
RIP dungeon adventures. May you rest peacefully unlike the guys in Delera's Tomb.

i played silkroad 4 years ago, that was my last MMORPG.
Interesting, that's fairly recent, the game is really old. It had dungeons but they weren't instanced right? Field leveling can be fun too in it's own way.
Have you tried other MMORPG's since?
Are you more of a dungeon grinder, pvp'er, pve'r or even pk'er?
Oh I have, I tried so many - from Guild Wars 1 to Haven & Hearth. And the generic stuff like Blade & Soul and Guild Wars 2. Not like they're bad, but I want a game, not a social action thingy.
Hmm... PvE'r + open world pvp if possible. I like challenges. MMOs don't have this anymore unless you grind for hundreds of hours, so now I spend my time in other genres.
I might go back to Guild Wars 1 soon if I can convince a few people to play with me. I barely played it, but it definitely had it's magic.
Ah, GW1 was groundbreaking and so much fun. I was pretty miffed when they overhauled the sequel and made it like a WoW clone, quite generic but pretty ok. I made a post about GW2's Halloween Event last year(link)
Have you tried TERA Online? The non-targeted action combat is pretty good. Aside from that I don't play a lot of MMORPG's and moved to other genres myself. I'm currently trying my hand at Heroes of the Storm(MOBA), Warframe (shooter) and I also play Japan's # 1 battle card game (link).

I just woke up and I hit steemit because I wanted to see zomebyte's blog and yours, linking me up was a big help lol.
Tera has good combat, but it has too much repetitive field leveling aka the walk & grind, this kills it for me. Also their open world PVP is factionless FFA so not much fun without a guild.
Other than League of Legends, I love games like Terraria... Dig or Die, Planet Centauri and hopefully picking up Regions of Ruin soon. I'm going to check out the updates on Hero Siege too. I'm also finally about to get Beholder and Event[0] out of my list.
I tried Shadowverse, it was fun! But Im in love with deck building (although I'm horrible at it), so straying away from Magic: the Gathering for too long makes me want to build for the Modern format again. I'll just copy paste this part into your post.

@felipejoys I can totally relate to the feelings of RPG's not having the same feel anymore. DDO was one of the first games like it, and i toiled away for hours on end and enjoyed alot of the grouping and especially the Dungeon delving.
The only downside to the earlier version of DDO was that, it was sometimes difficult to find a group for a certain mission, or if you did find a group they were not working together and just running all over.
But ultimately it was a great game at the time, I have not played it in several years, I might try it again, just to see how it has changed.

Yeah, wait time was long, but if you put up a Looking for More for long enough, people would end up getting in touch. Making friends that way eases getting into groups later.
All other MMORPGs make grouping completely optional, and most of them made it slow you down instead of feel more fun. DDO used to have the perfect grouping experience. Maybe someday we'll get more of that.
