Movie Review: Game Night

Game Night is a very entertaining action comedy that features an odd group of people.
This movie shows a lot of similarities to the movie The Game. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119174/
Which I highly recommend you watch.
Game Night has some dark humor but also some light humor which I think is what makes the movie interesting.
The movie revolves around the characters and delves into their personal lives and their relationships while disguising the messages with jokes.
Game Night is an ingenious movie that confuses the viewers to an extent that is enjoyable.
When you finish the movie it will leave you asking questions.

The Story
A pair of brothers have always held a grudge against each other (Max and Brooks). They are extremely competitive. It was a tradition to have a game night to compete between themselves and some friends. One game night the older brother Brooks took it to the next level. An in real life game night. They all went to Brooks house. He tells the group that in order to win the game you have to find him, he told them the prize was a 1976 Corvette Stingray. Unexpectedly there was a repeated bang at the door. The door came crashing down. Two men came barging into the living room. They grabbed Brooks but he knew this wasn't part of the game. A dramatic fight followed. The group of friends thinking this was all part of the game just watched. Brooks lost the fight and was dragged into a van.

The group thinking the game had started split into pairs and began looking for him. Max and his wife Annie using a phone tracker went to where Brook's phone was. Meanwhile their friends Michelle and Kevin had been trapped in a room by the other pair Ryan and Sarah. Max and Annie arrived at the place where Max's phone. What they saw was a small bar. Max and Annie entered the bar and saw one of the two that kidnapped Brooks. To not be noticed they sat down at a table and asked for some drinks. Out of no where Annie pulled out a gun that she thought was fake and told Max that she picked it up when Brooks dropped it fighting the kidnappers. Suddenly the second kidnapper came out of a room which they saw Brooks in. Annie then got up holding the gun towards the kidnappers. She told them to get on the floor in a 'Child's Pose'. They left them there and enter the room with Brooks.

The door shut behind them. They untied Brooks he started telling them that this was all real. The kidnappers having no one watching over them so they start trying to open the door into the room. The three of them ran out of the building by a back door and got into Max's car. While in the car Brooks explained what happened. He had found a Faberge egg and was going to sell it to a buyer when another buyer (Donald Anderton) offered a higher price. The Bulgarian the original buyer was mad so he started chasing Brooks to kill him unless he got the egg. Max and Annie half believed him. The trio just realized the kidnappers were close behind chasing them in their van. Shots were fired, Brooks then in a sacrifice jumped out of the car to save his brother and wife. Max drove away. Max's friends still back at Brook's found out that all the things that had happened were real. They gave Max a call and told him what they had learnt which confirmed Brook's claim.

Max wanting to save his brother aimed to get the egg back from Donald Anderton in order to save his brother. They thought being a criminal Donald Anderton he would be on the police system so they could find out where he lived. Max and Annie had a neighbor that was a police officer (Gary). They would go to their neighbors house with their friends and pretend to want to have a game night. What they were really doing there was trying to get into their neighbors computer to get into the police system. They found out where Anderton lived. All of them drove to the place. They arrived at a large mansion. They entered the mansion. The place seemed to be set up as if a party was taking place. They found stairs for a basement with noise coming from it. They went down to find two men fighting. They split up to find the egg. Ryan stayed in the basement very interested in the fight. Sarah was telling him to start searching. "What if the egg is down here," He said. Ryan then noticed a vault at the back of the room which contained the egg. Ryan headed towards it and grabbed it. He was about to leave when all attention was brought to him. Ryan ran away, using teamwork the group managed to get away.

The kidnappers had told Max to meet them with the egg. While on the way Max broke the egg but they found a paper inside which they kept. They arrive there to find the kidnappers with Brooks. Suddenly their police officer neighbor(Gary) pulls up and shoots the kidnappers. Everything was happy until one of the kidnappers half dead shoots the Gary. Max's neighbor backs up into the car blood spewing out. Max and Annie went to his side. Gary then tells them it's fake and he only did it because they would always leave him out of game night. All were relieved and Brooks was released from the van when a black car pulled up. It was Bulgarian he was asking for the egg Brooks told Max to give him the paper. Max complied, Brooks placed the paper in his mouth and swallowed. Bulgarian was very mad he decided he was just going to cut it out of Brooks. They grabbed Brooks and drove him away. The group followed and attempted to save him. They were successful. After this event the relationship between the brothers was mended.
