I Floss My Tears - Freewrite
I Floss my Tears
The song of the mermaid was so yearning for something she couldn’t have. She sang and she sang of love. Of wanting to be free of the sea and for wanting to offer everything she had for love.
The love of a man.
How little does she know that love doesn’t last.
But here she was, singing “I floss my tears for love is deep in my soul”
Maybe I don’t really understand mermaid language too well or maybe mermaid tears are made of seaweed or worthing else which needs to be flossed.
But I think that it is a problem of translation.
I am still new to their language and I feel that I am the lucky one to even be allowed to learn it at all.
Something about this island had attracted me for a long time.
Yes, the beaches are what we all want beaches to be. Fine sand, white since we associate this with pristine. Crazy, a black sanded beach can be just as pristine but it doesn’t show up in the advertisements picturing usually two people, with beautiful bodies - at least what we right now, in this time deem to be beautiful - blue skies, a blue ocean with soft waves, the obligatory pristine white beach and the rest could be: beer, another alcoholic drink, sunscreen, viagra - the possibilities for that kind of setting are endless.
But rarely do we see mermaids. Not in ads which we are supposed to believe are real.
This mermaid I am watching does not really fit our idea of that she is supposed to look like. But her voice surpasses any expectation.
I leave her for now, “I floss my tears” fading the further I walk away from the water.

Thank you Debbey. some of them are quite nice! lol
Beware the song of the mermaids, it drives the sailors crazy, unless they put wax plugs into their ears, or if you're brave like Ulisses, you can stand the song, but you must be tied to the mast! ;)
I know! So many followed their song! :)
mermaids are very hard to translate their speech :D Love this and love you finally have time to do more than just read freewrites though I know you DO love that too but a day is only 28 hours long lolll
You are not kidding!! you have to listen so hard to what they have to say!! :)
Good post
