Freewrite - Helicopter
Here it goes again. Louder and louder and there is that voice coming from the sky. Just as in the books when God spoke from heaven.
Only this is no god and it is not coming from heaven. The voice is trying to cut through the noise the blades are making as the helicopter keeps making circles over the neighborhood.
"Look for a male with a yellow shirt. Long brown hair. He is wearing dark jeans and red tennis shoes. do not approach. Call 911 immediately. Armed and dangerous."
And so it goes. Every day. Something, somewhere, something happened and they are looking. some days, it is only an old man or woman who has wandered away from the home their children had put them to keep them safe - the ones who have the modern day disease of Alzheimer's and just don't know where they are - and maybe worse - who they are.
They are in homes because their children can't take care of them. It is hard when you are at work all day long just to have a roof over your head. After work, it is time to pick up the children from the daycare they also have to pay for. It is either that or someone staying at home to take care of the older generation and also of the younger.
The days are gone when grandma lived in the house to take care of the kids. So many grandmas are either very young and very eager to have a life of their own - or are the kind who might be wandering the streets lost to themselves. don't know which days were better. The days where the mom lived in the house but maybe that was hard on everyone - or the days when we all live by ourselves, living our own little or big lives and are listening when the helicopter flies over - not sure if we need to be concerned or scared.

There are days when I wonder how much longer it will be before the helicopter is out looking for Little Lost Me. LOL
You and I both. But I am always happy when my 6-year-old grandson forgets what he wanted to say LOL Can't be age for him - so it must be normal LOL
