5 min Writing Prompt "Paper" #freewrite Serial Story ACT TWO Chapter Twenty Three
The paper actually speaks to him through his fingertips. He thought this would be like braille, but the page is more like a vinyl record, with his fingertips acting as a needle... And the voice of the book sings out between his ears, deep within his mind.
The purges continue apace. After the trial the heretic is placed on a scaffold and the horns are removed with a triangular saw. All must attend these purges lest they be the next to fall beneath the blade. And the three sisters watch on, with the Queen behind them, apparently bound to her litter against her will.
During these times charges of heresy are usually brought on by questioning the purges themselves. Was this not to free our kind from beneath the manacled boot of an oppressive King? will be the question, and as for the answer... The answer adorns the halls of the former King's Court, now a museum of taxidermy and tragic records such as myself. For what can I do but record these events?
