5 min Writing Prompt "Switch" #freewrite Serial Story ACT TWO Chapter Ten
After yelling his name at the door several times, he finally breaks down.
"My name is Sebastian!" he cries, tears streaming down his face. "The Abbot named me!"
THE ABBOT IS A DRUNK. replies the door, along with an arrow pointing to one of the nearby windows.
He walks quickly over to this window, and has to step up onto a stool to peer over the high edge. In the courtyard below he sees the Abbot, stretched out across the large wooden table, rolling around and singing drunkenly to himself.
"♪I'm gonna get a sunburn. Sunburn my fur. SUNBURNIN' MY FURRYESSNESS!♫" Around the Abbot several of the swallows have congregated, helping themselves to the wine that he has spilled across the tabletop. Eventually the Abbot rolls off the table and tumbles in a laughing heap onto the ground, sending up a bright sunburst of drunken swallows.
Stepping down from the window, he thinks: I am a fool.
