5 min Writing Prompt "Headache" #freewrite Serial Story ACT THREE Chapter Two
That night, in the hold of his commandeered vessel en route from his abandoned kingdom, waving back and forth in a mouldy hammock as his companion snake moves silently through the floorboards on the hunt for stowaway rats, King Simons dreams a reluctant and fitful dream of the Bowl of Plenty.
"I am wrong," the Bowl intones, as the cameras flash and the microphones crackle with solumbant feedback. "And you are right."
The five rivers wash across the media scrum and flow into the bowl. Their currency costs Simon dear, and he yearns to chase the energy, to find the mountain and his lost kingdom. Or maybe just his Queen, and then retreat into mountain life and be alone in love…
Blogs and videos swirl within the endlessly emptying bowl of plenty. The rivers spark snakelike currents to and fro within and without. "Because you are wrong…" cries the bowl.
Simon pulls himself awake. The bowl echoes it's fill between his ears, making for the beginnings of an exquisite headache… "And I am right…"
