The bison was far away, too much for any other mortal, but for a Silvershield Archer "the best Silvershield Archer of splinterlands" it was an easy target, his specialty.
He held his breath to make the shot, but just as he released the arrow an unexpected force shoved him in the elbow diverting the shot to the right. The bison fled terrified down the hillside.
"I'm sorry, sister, but if anyone has to take that beast home for dinner, it'll be me." He ran out, up to the hill.
"You'll pay for it, you rascal" The girl was furious.
The young archer climbed the hill and could see the bison, it had run downhill, at the foot of the mountain. He hastened to point it with the crossbow, "bread eaten for the best Silvershield Archer of splinterlands"
but just at the moment of shooting, a rock hit his crossbow deflecting the shot that passed very close to the bison, driving it away again.
"That's my bison, look for yours," said the girl archer.
That night, - the best Silvershield Archers of splinterlands - dined potatoes.
