I always loved the sound of a good woodwind instrument and the brass instruments always seemed like farts to me. With the mixture of a wood mouth piece and the brass body sound we experience the bellow of brass yet tone and clarity of a woodwind. I played bass guitar in high school which was the accompanying sound for our saxophonists, the two combined really strike deep on your emotions.

A groove and a scream if you will like James Brown encapsulated in two instruments the bass and saxophone have a long history together. Simply with a bass and saxophone many of the early R & B artists started on the streets. The heart of blues rings loud and clear while the grove of bass keeps an upbeat tempo even to the most blue melody.

A balancing act if you will, true to the heart yet intriguing to the mind. Soul inspiring, maybe that’s why it’s called soul music.....
