I Have Concerns Of How These Changes Will Affect The Global Steem Community - Blockchain Coffee “Prestige”
Today I ramble about my concerns for ongoing changes, the things many of you hold in high prestige I find myself questioning the possible outcomes.
We should all be aware of PALNet by now and out the gate I loved the idea yet through its function I come to a few concerns. Essentially the requirement to use their front end to make use of any voting power on the PALNet Blockchain may have put it in a place of direct competition to the Steem Blockchain in a sense of user base. What I would like to see is a system where if you have PAL staked no matter which front end we vote from on Steem posts our PAL stake is utilized on any with #palnet tag thus supporting the core of a global community rather than building a further wall around ourselves. Simply put as it is now requiring me to watch for #palnet tags on @Partiko to then make use of my staked PAL through their front end just adds a further complication to daily activities!
Now we have the new DTube with its own side chain and future community Tube’s just like PALnet creating further divisions with front ends being launched via Steem Engine. My concern are the walls we are building and how each will be it’s own ecosystem which sounds great but with a limited user base currently available I fall back to the thoughts of why aren’t these chains supporting each other?
Again, in short, one login from Steem, any front end utilizes your stake, the choice of front end should remain a decision of the end user based on function rather than speculation of potential rewards!
Very excited to see so many developments all at once but I have concerns of how these changes will affect the global Steem community which transcends the walls of individual communities and projects. Why separate the collective power of each chain when it could be further used to build prestige amongst the projects which make investments into each?

GREAT READ, YOU'RE RIGHT. I'M NOT SURE HOW TO FEEL ABOUT IT EITHER. HONESTLY I LOVE #STEEMIT EASY. WHEN YOU SEE THAT THERE'S ALL THE UPVOTING ON ONLY CERTAIN CONTENT, ITS AN EXCLUSIVE CLUB THAT I'M NOT A PART OF, AND SO MANY OTHERS AREN'T. I HAD A FRIEND SHOW ME THE LEADER BOARD OF WHO HOLDS ALL THE PAL AND YOU SEE RIGHT THROUGH IT.. IM NOT SAYING THEY WONT GET ANY WHERE, THEY ARE SUCCESSFUL ATM. I JUST DONT GO WHERE I'M NOT WELCOMED. SO ANY PAL I HAVE IM UN-STAKING IT.
It does seem to be following the same path as Steem with creating its own collection of whales, it will be hard to break away from the cliquey mindset while everyone is scrambling to get their “extra” tokens...

Yea if your wanting those PAL you must use their tag #palnet and I believe now the minnow support votes are similar to bidbot votes having to use your PAL to pay for them.... I thought the whole idea was to break away from the broken promotion model of Steem 🤦♂️

I need to think this over. It feels as if they all don't need eachother any longer once it is famous and works, or they leave.
Just for signing up steem is needed ad I frequently get the message it is the wrong key.
Well the one relieving part is these steem engine side chains are built on top of Steem and require it to function but it is only one small step for a project to break away from Steem being able to pull funding from these chains which is pulling from the Steem economy.....

This isnt the case. You dont need to use their front end to tap into your voting power. A vote on steemit will also use pal power as long as the post uses palnet as a tag.

Well I've seen and done it myself. So I guess I'm the verifying evidence. Any moderator on discord should be able to confirm this.

The way you describe how it should work is how it does work! If you upvote a post with the palnet tag and you have staked pal, you are also rewarding the author in PAL! Frontend irrelevant!
I have yet to see any drain on my PAL VP

Once you login to DTube via Steem then you can claim your DTC account by clicking the red banner at the top but remember to save the new DTC private key separately. Account claim will go through Steemconnect and once completed you can finish the account claim by logging in thus you will be logged into both Steem & DTC on DTube.
