Day 19: 5 Minute Freewrite - Prompt: A Purple Squirrel
It was a somewhat pleasant day, you know the kind not to hot, and not too cold. So I was sitting outside in my ancient (I have rolls and rolls of nylon lawnchair strapping) lawnchair that I had once again just restrapped. I would often sit outside in the morning hours to catch that first breath of clean air. The dew beginning to evaporate, and the breeze shifting and becoming an onshore flow. The gentle mix of the dew and the subtle hint of salt from the sea always made my sinuses happy.
I didn't have anything at all planned for today, I was just going to enjoy a few of the morning hours in total comfort, watching mother nature work her magic as the sun just fully rose, sipping on my coffee. I don't know if you have ever heard them before but the bird songs in the morning hours are always so cheerful.
Something was suddenly amiss, there was this horrendous combination of howling/yowling going on. It was a sound I had never heard before. Then all of a sudden from out of the third oak down, I saw a, no I could not have saw a, I finally had to admit to what I saw when it came running straight toward me. I was just so shocked and flabbergasted that I just stayed sat like a statue in my lawnchair. At first I thought oh crap flashback, one eyed one horned blind purple people eater, but no, thank god it was not that, and not a flash back.
....opps times up, I'm slow.
Add more tags to this story, writing would do just fine. This is interesting.
A leather artist my wife follows, did a cool leather bag, I saw this 5 minute write thing, and thought I would try, I stuck to the rules when 5 minutes hit, I stopped writing. I think it was the Purple Squirrel prompt that caught me. And nope not gonna add any other writing tags, I am not a writer, I prefer to read. And I have no idea where I was going with the little story anyways.LoL, but it was fun to just stream write, like water flowing to a river. Thanks for the thought though, and the upvote much appreciated.
