How The Internet Can Break Us Loose From The Chain of Command. And Bring Forth True Democracy! 🎩
Our History
Since the dawn of time there always been a ruler and his servant, an elite overruling the masses. Be it an emperor, a king, or as we know them nowadays, a corporation. Man seemed to always want to control the population by any means necessary. Wars fought in the name of religion often manipulated by the ones giving the orders, whether it be a godly or human believe. The tools used for spreading propaganda seem to be bigger than ever before. Todays understanding of the human psychology, together with our technological advancements, enable for such a high level of influence, many can't even imagine. Yet with all this knowledge, this is the time. The time we can finally break free from this chain of command, loosen the shackles, and become a community without boundaries nor (separated) nations to exist.
The Internet
The Internet might be the best invention ever created by mankind. In just a decade it became accepted, just a decade later it became our daily routine. As this generation growing up right now is accustomized to it, not knowing any better than internet being a part of their lives. They will be the ones bringing the true potentials come to existence. We are just here opening the doorway for them to do so.
Just recently I read an article from @dwinblood where he made a great analogy of the internet already being a form (or mixture) of freedom, anarchy (as in the absence of government) and a global organisation LINK HERE. And I couldn't agree more. As there is no interference, freedom of speach, and interaction between one another from any place in the world.
Internet as a Foundation to Freedom
It is already happening. As the internet is used to spread news, ideas, and help us connect without intervenience. At least, that is what we use it for as individuals. Those currently in control of command will do anything they can to limit the resources jeopardizing their position. If they will succeed, only time will tell. But all empires eventually come to fall and I personally believe they won't be able to stop this.
Cryptocurrencies could take over the current fiat (-debt) based currency, a bubble who's been about to pop for a while now. Who by itself is already a lot healthier for the economy, as well as enabling us to be in charge of our own money.
Instead of politicians representing (the corporations) and deciding for us what rules to obey, and what is done with OUR money. Tools can be implemented where we can all give a vote as to what we like (a good example of this is kickstarter).
An idea like Steemit, though this platform is still an experiment and in my opinion resembles too much of our current business model. However, it has the potential for all of us to bring our creativities to life (stimulate us) and get rewarded without being cut-off. These are just a few examples as there is so much going on right now. It's barely able to keep up with the progress being made. As for sure we have some crazy times ahead of us, and I for one am really curious to see where it will lead us!

Good post. I believe pretty much everyone has this on their mind to some extent. Some are a little more vocal than others. But it will all come to a head eventually. My money is on the people and their will to control their planet the way they want. With each day, this is becoming more possible.
Yeah let's hope so, we finally got this big opportunity here, so we better don't waste it.

Platforms like steemit care get us away from the average 9-5
The internet is changing the world because access to information has become almost universal. There is no excuse to be uninformed, as you have the world at your fingertips.
I agree on some level, since the manipulation is so huge, it can be easy to get steered looking the other way.
That's true. There are tons of manipulations. Easy to distract from reality.
I dont want democracy. I want Freedom. I dont want to be a slave to the majority. Democracy is a terrible form of totalitarianism.
