Fort Galt Update: Clearing The First Build Site - Photos
Bootstrapping a new town from scratch takes time. After spending two years scouring Chile for the perfect property, gathering members, fundraising, buying the land, hiring all the right people, designing the first building, and all the tedious little steps in between... We're finally clearing the first construction site in preparation to build. It should be done next week and then things will be kicking into high gear around here. If there's anything I've learned in construction plans (and execution), is not to underestimate the delays that may happen! Too much variables over a reasonably long time span.

lol, there are always exceptions. I think they're called general contractors, though I've heard them called a whole lot of things.
Absolutely! It's often even worse in southern Chile because of how laid-back the culture is. Everything takes longer than we think they should.
That rectangular patch in the picture is roughly the building's footprint. They still have some more work to do though. I'll take some "after" pictures when they're done. The community land as a whole is about 100 acres (pictures of the res are on the website)
Yes, I can imagine, pretty much laid back in South East Asia too! Being the middleman, I always needed to explain the delays lol. I see now why you needed the drone :) All the best, and will be eager to check out on the progress!
