Food Adventures #3 | Vietnamese Grilled Pork & Rice Noodles! Bún Thịt Nướng

Welcome to Food Adventures #3

I have an epic love for food in general, but especially for Vietnamese food. Good thing my husband is half Vietnamese so his mum cooks me delicious Viet food when we visit. Today's Food Adventure is dedicated to the classic Grilled Pork & Rice Noodle dish, otherwise known as Bún Thịt Nướng. There are a few different options you can order with different meat toppings but I opted for the all-inclusive option with Grilled Pork, Spring Rolls & Shredded Pork Rind. This variation is properly known as Bún Bi Thịt Nướng Chả Giò.

This dish may not look like much but it is a delicious mix of marinated grilled pork, crispy spring rolls, fresh lettuce, carrots, bean sprouts and cucumber, aromatic mint, spring onions and chopped peanuts - all piled on top of a bowl of vermicelli rice noodles. To bring this lovely dish together simply add as much (or as little) fish sauce as you prefer and ENJOY!

My beverage of choice for this meal is the Vietnamese classic Three Colour Drink, otherwise known as Chè ba màu, which is a mixture of Red Bean (Red Layer), Mung Bean (Yellow Layer) and Jelly (Green Layer). These three ingredients are then topped with shaved ice and sweet coconut cream. This drink also doubles as a dessert but I often find myself finishing it off well before my food is served.
