Tuna Pasta Bake
One of the wide range of things I like to make and eat are pasta bakes. It's simple, filling, cheap and endlessly variable.
Served hot the night of cooking the pasta bake
This most recent variation that I made started out as this recipe before I made the modifications that brought me to the recipe below.
Ingredients
I think I've got everything in the ingredients photo this time
- 250 grams Fusili
- 400 grams Tuna, Drained
- 1/2 cup Frozen Peas & Corn
- 1 can Condensed Cream of Chicken & Corn Soup
- 1/2 can Water
- 25 grams Fetta
- 1 cup Grated Cheese
- 1/2 cup Parmesan
- 1/3 cup Breadcrumbs
Method
- Pre-heat the oven to 180C.
- Grease a baking dish with at least 8 cup capacity
- Cook the **Fusili **for 2 minutes short of the packet instructions, and drain.
- Combine the Tuna, Fetta, Peas & Corn, Soup, Water, and Pasta in a bowl and mix well.
I mixed all the ingredients asides from the pasta before adding the pasta and mixing again
- Season the mixture to your liking.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared dish
- Top with the Grated Cheese, then Breadcrumbs, then Parmesan
It never changes what they look like by this stage. cheese and breadcrumbs
- Bake in the oven for 30 minutes, or until golden on top
and while they all look the same at this point, they all look a lot tastier too!
- Serves 4
When served hot, it puddles like this
If left to cool before serving, you get nice slices like this that stay that way even after re-heating
Additional Comments
- Original recipe only calls for 185 g Tuna, but I like more in my pasta.
- I made mine serve 6 instead of 4, thanks to the additional tuna.
- When you let a pasta bake cool, you can serve slices of it, rather than having it puddle on the plate.
- I was interested in how well the soup worked as a binding liquid, instead of cream and/or milk. Added a nice flavour to it also.

An absolute classic... Tuna past bake. One of my specialties too :-)
At least one pasta bake recipe should be in everyone's repertoire
Great recipe, thank for sharing :)
Interesting idea to use the soup, and it probably tasted better in the pasta bake than it does on its own XD
Most certainly tasted better this way than as soup
That must be delicious
Yummy
