My First Vegan Pizza 🍕 (Recipe) 🍕 and My Vegan Journey on Weeken Days 7-9

Hi Steemit friends.

Today a new post from my Vegan Journey, I have a little delay with the publications because I've been quite busy. But on the weekend I made delicious meals that are worth sharing as soon as possible with you.

On weekends I usually do only two meals a day, I get up very late and do a lot of diligence, go for a walk, eat out and watch movies. On weekends I love to eat something unhealthy and it's almost always a hamburger, I usually go to a restaurant called Burger Bar Caracas and order a big burger called Cheese Lover, which has 150 grams of beef, a lot of melted cheese, mushrooms, vegetables potato chips and to drink water. This is almost a routine for me, I love hamburgers! to give you an example of 10 times I go to this restaurant 7 times I ask for the same hamburger. Totally crazy!

So, here we go... 🚀

But first, my favorite photo of these 3 days, I'll tell you about the recipe.

Saturday / Day 7

For my breakfast, I only cut fruits (papaya, plum, and banana). The day before I had bought and I thought it would be something totally different. The breakfasts are quite difficult for me because I like to eat scrambled eggs or an omelet. For me, this has been the hardest part of the challenge. However, the fruits were delicious and they satiated me very much.

It was already past 4 in the afternoon and I still had not had lunch, I ate another banana and went to a mall for what were my options. I went through the food fair and it was disappointing to know that there were no vegan options, neither sushi, nor in Mexican, only in Arabic food, (but believe me, I did not want more hummus) I found another Hamburger site called Ávila Burger and They had at least one vegan burger called Camino de los Españoles. I was very hungry and had two options: Arab or Hamburger. You already know that I chose not?

I tell you the truth, I had zero desire to eat this hamburger. My boyfriend ordered a hamburger of 200 grams of meat with a lot of bacon. I wanted to eat it! but I chose this hamburger of mushroom meat, tomatoes confit, watercress, basil sauce, plantain, and sweet potato chips, to drink water.

The burger was expensive but it really was incredibly delicious, the photo does not honor it, I thought I would lose my money and without a doubt, I would order that burger again. I do not know if I will be vegan at the end of the challenge but this dish I would ask for it on my weekends. The only bad thing was that they served the hamburger with goat cheese, (you do not see it in the photo because I gave it to my boyfriend). That makes me think that there is very little information about what vegan food really is.

Day 8. It is Sunday

Arepas with hummus and Tabule. I just finished taking the pictures of my Blackberry Cake - Recipe, so I also ate a big piece.

It's time for my vegan pizza recipe. Today is a movie day, so I had to prepare something delicious. This is the first time I make a pizza including the dough and the result has been great.

My First Vegan Pizza

Ingredients for the sauce

Tomatoes, hot pepper, sweet pepper, onion, paprika, garlic, basil, salt, pepper, and water

Place everything in the blender (except the basil) and place in a pot, simmer until it is bright red and the water is reduced. Add the basil and reserve.

You can also add a little olive oil to give it a unique flavor.

You can add oregano powder if you like.

Ingredients for the dough.

2 cups of wheat flour separated in half. Gluten free version: 150 gr of rice flour and 50 grams of corn flour (well mixed between them)
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
1 tablespoon of yeast
1 cup of warm water
2 tablespoons of sugar
Salt, pepper, and oregano to taste.

Instructions.

Place the flour in a bowl and add the spices and the oil.
Add sugar and yeast to lukewarm water, wait 5 min. add the previous mixture to the flour and mix very well.
Little by little put more flour until it sticks in your hands.

Let the dough grow near the heat and cover a clean cloth for 20 min. Then, form balls with the dough and crush as seen in the photo with the roller.

At this point, you are ready to put the dough on a greased tray, add the sauce and all the vegetables that you like the most.

I added everything I had in the fridge.

My pizza has eggplant, onion, sweet pepper, paprika, spinach, basil pesto, white grains, nutritional yeast, coriander, and pepper.

The hardest part was making my boyfriend's pizza that had the same vegetables plus cheese, ham, and salami. Seriously, the first time in my life that I manage not to eat all that. Something very strange that I did was smell the salami.

My boyfriend said: Weird!

Looking good and making it work! Veggie burgers seem to be one of the only options in a lot of places, but I've had some good ones in my time. I used to be a bacon cheeseburger addict as a kid. I think I ate my quota then, so it's all veggie burgers for the rest of my life. :)

Yes, it is disappointing. There are no vegan options, unless they are local food specializing in vegetarian and vegan food, the rest are very few options. I could order a salad and do protein substitution for more vegetables, but they would charge me the same price and it would not be fair. This hamburger that I tried really wanted to eat again.

and loved the fruit mix (not to undermine that pizza), you might have added a bit of dark choco on top :D
