It was a Beautiful Day so glad I got out to enjoy it!

Cool, I've never seen those berries before, great to have a little window into someone else's foraging day! In Ireland I think the closest thing we have is balckberries and raspberries, oh, and bilberries, nyum nyum.

Your an ethnobotanist? That's cool, have you ever read Wade Davis "Ethnobotany of a Haitian Zombie"? one of my favourite books.

It's on my to-read list! I read his "One River", very cool book, lots of amazing stories and insights.

Yes thats a really good book, all his books are. He should also be considered a historian, and best of all he's a BC boy!

Very nice photos!!!

That looks like a good haul of Salmon berries and huckleberries! It's nice when public parks allow foraging, even if it's just for fruits, nuts, and mushrooms. Those Salmon berries have some beautiful colors sitting there in your collecting cup. Have a berry happy summer foraging season!

Thank You I will.

It’s nice to see a new forager here on Steemit! Berry nice berries! It's interesting that huckleberries are different in different regions. In some areas, the huckleberries are blue fruits. But yours must be the Vaccinium parvifolium of the Pacific Northwest. So good!

You have been upvoted and resteemed by the Foraging Trail, a SteemTrail project. You can find out more about the Steemit Foraging community and the @foraging-trail here and here. Happy foraging!

We have Blue ones here too I just found some last year in stanley park. also when I was camping up north around Terrace we picked what we called blueberries I've been told they were Blue Huckleberries, do you know if there's a difference? I'll update the post with the scientific name. Oh yeah and its the pacific southwest or to be inclusive I will accept pacific centrewest( and the last letter of the alphabet rhymes with Ned).
Just a little canuckery to lighten your day, Happy Indepence Day!

I've wondered about that too. The mystery of the blue huckleberries... Do they exist? Or are they just blueberries disguised with a different name??

Huckleberries are so good, I want a Huckleberry tree / bush? Some day.

Find a rotting log and get planting!
