HEAVEN #8: 893 Ryotei Berlin

The 893 Ryotei is Berlin's best Japanese Restaurant

I visited this fantastic Restaurant of Chef Duc and wrote a restaurant review a while ago. The food was absolutely fantastic so I gave Duc a call and visited his restaurant again. Last time I was sitting at the counter to get some impressions of the staff preparing the food this time I went for a normal table.

Outside of 893 (it looks really ugly)

The restaurant

Fatty Tuna

Mentaiko Pasta

Octupus Salad

Garlic Rice

Wagyu Beef Filet with Japanese Mushrooms

Kinmedai (Golden Eye Snapper) with white miso

The Sushi The Chu-Toro was almost perfect, 9/10 points, the uni was 7/10 and Ootoro (Superfatty Tuna) was 9/10 the Negitoro maki was the same quality as in Japan 10/10.

The Pasta: I expected the Pasta to be very good. A Japanese cook is preparing it and there is not reason why the pasta should not taste as good as in Japan. (Well the Italien people on Steemit might think... what is this guy talking about. Japanese Pasta?) Mentaiko Pasta is one of my favorites. If you don't know Mentaiko:

Mentaiko (明太子?), Myeongranjeot(명란젓) is the marinated roe of pollock and cod, and it is a common ingredient in Japanese cuisine and Korean cuisine. Mentaiko originated from Korea, and was introduced to Japan after World War II. Toshio Kawahara (川原 俊夫 Kawahara Toshio?),  who was born in the city of Busan, Korea during the Japanese  occupation, adapted mentaiko to Japanese tastes in Fukuoka in 1949. The  typical seasoning and flavor is different in Japan. Mentaiko is made in a variety of flavors and colors and is available  at airports and main train stations. It is usually eaten with onigiri, but is also enjoyed by itself with sake. A common variety is spicy mentaiko (辛子明太子 karashi mentaiko?). It is a product of the Hakata ward of Fukuoka City. Recently in Japan, mentaiko pasta has become very common and popular.  Mentaiko is mixed with butter or mayonnaise and used as a sauce for  spaghetti. Thin strips of Nori are often sprinkled on top. Mentaiko was nominated as Japan's number one side dish in the Japanese weekly magazine, Shūkan Bunshun.[1]  SOURCE

Anyway the pasta was perfect. It tastes so good just look at the pictures it is even better if you try it out... They put Nori and Shiso on top of it and it's such an explosion in your mouth...

The Octopus Incredible another 9/10 (Only reason I didn't give a 10/10 was that they put Coriander into it, I didn't like that in a Japanese dish) The avocado and the onions with the Octopus was spectacular.

The Wagyu I am paging @mibenkito this one you will really love. It was so perfect and melted in my mouth. I ate it with the excellent Garlic rice ( I love Garlic Rice...)

The Fish That one was a 10/10 I had it last time too, but again it was spectacular. Even in Japan it is hard to get this quality at this price. You can always get better quality but at maybe 5x the cost.
